Hi all,

Perhaps somebody has already asked this, but after seeing how active this kind of lounge meetup thread is on the BA Exec Club forum I wondered if it would be worthwhile of having one here?

What do you think or does it detract from Clubhouse exclusivity?

I just used 45'000 miles plus paid £800 to travel to Miami in PE. I had initially thought that with kind of mileage allowed one to travel at least 1 way in UC. Clearly not.

Hence I am posting this thread to see if anyone is travelling in UC on Friday 27 July and would like to guest me in ;) I will be at T3 from 9 am.

Thanks

I don't think the FT VS forum is busy enough to make it work, but think it is a good idea.

We do have the itinerary forum over on V-Flyer, where UC travellers have the opportunity to tick a box to show they are prepared to offer to guest a fellow passenger into the CH. To me this seems more civilised than canvassing for a freebie, but YMMV ;):D

I'll stick it for a while and see where it goes - if it doesn't really work, I'll unstick again.

It's not canvassing for a freebie, it's maximising our comfort using our extended FT family ;)

Can VS status holders guest folks into the clubhouse who aren't flying on VS that day?

No. VS AU can guest one person even if they themselves are flying economy or Premium Economy, but only if their guest is flying VS. The rules about same flight and/or guest leaving when the guestor leaves are sometimes more adhered to/mentioned by lounge agents than in the BA lounges

Looking for clubhouse invite flying VS007 LHR-LAX 21/09. Would appear from itinerary calender to be very quiet day for V-Flyer departures from LHR! :(

Returning VS024 LAX-LHR 29/09...likewise very quiet day for V-Flyers...so conclude there's no harm in asking.

Cheers

I will arrive @ LHR by 7am via Drive Through Check-In at and in the Clubhouse by 7:30am on November 8th, 2012. I'm guesting someone flying in coach from v-flyer, it should be fun.

A family friend wants a treat for a birthday celebration in December. The lounge at Heathrow is the big thing.

Where there are x4 travelling, but the cost x4 Upper Class fares is not sensible just for this thrill, is there any clever way to access this lounge for ££ money, points, or anything cleverer than that?

AFAID, not at Heathrow, no. You can only buy access for Gatwick Clubhouse and Gatwick V-Room - I might be wrong but I remember this being asked before.

Why not buy 2 UC and 2 normal and get the 2 UC passengers to guest in the other 2.

VS will sometimes sell day passes to the LHR CH for £60 but this is by no means guaranteed as it depends on how busy the CH is on the day.

They also do not allow access to be bought by using FC miles.

I suggest they look at booking an alternative like the #1 lounge and perhaps pre-ordering an onboard treat like champagne from the Retail Therapy magazine

I thought if you booked through Virgin Holidays you could buy lounge access?

Yes! You can buy the Virgin 'Guest List' package...

£680 not bad if you make use of the chauffeur service too.

My son (aged 24) is travelling LHR - LAX on 11 July on 15.45 flight. He will be checking in around 13.00. An offer to guest him into the Virgin Clubhouse would be most appreciated. If you can accommodate please PM me.
