They should have tried instead from HND, which would be more convenient...

Based on ANA's coding, it is 773. (Of course general aircraft code for 777-300ER is 77W)

Not really. Since flights like NRT SEA, HND LAX, HND HNL, NRT TPE uses NH10xx, and HND TSA uses NH11xx

Here's the English press release: http://www.ana.co.jp/eng/aboutana/press/2012/120725.html

It seems they finally had loads high enough for a regular second daily flight; you may recall NH operated a seasonal NRT-JFK flight on Saturdays in January-March of last year (http://airlineroute.net/2010/12/20/nh-jfk-w10/) at almost exactly the same time departure/arrival times.

A shame they're using a non-IOJ 773, but the new timing should give more flexibility. Frankly I prefer the afternoon departures from NRT and JFK, as it gives me more time to take care of things in TYO on the outbound and allows for easy connections to JFK on the inbound.

That 1655 departure time out of JFK back to NRT is a great new option. Too bad it's not IOJ... but this suggests the 788s are coming in steadily again to free up 1.5 773s (perhaps the SEA bird?)

NH1010 NRT1645 – 1515JFK 77W D
NH1009 JFK1655 – 2105+1NRT 77W D

This is indeed good news. The new flight schedule makes connection to/from TPE (Taoyuan) airport possible on NH metal. ^

Is there a big difference between the first class product on NH 10 vs NH 1010? I am thinking of flying NH 1010 due to the time but I want to make sure I'm getting a decent F product. I'd appreciate it if someone can tell me the difference since the seat map does not indicate the difference.

The new product is essentially the old seat with a more modern IFE screen and walls -- everything else is more-or-less identical.

I'm still confused. Is newly added flight will be operated by 77W with old cabins or 773 (non-ER)?

77W with old cabins, 773 non-ER only use for domestic routes in Japan, not to mention they don't even have the range to fly across the ocean !

Just to clarify: the IOJ 777-300ER is referred to as "77W" and the non-IOJ 777-300ER is referred to as "773" by NH, but you're right -- no non-ER 773s are used on international routes.

So are flights 1009/1010 fully government approved and ready to fly? How are the F seats on these flights?

so as a result of the second flight, GF is pissed cause they lose the hotel in Manhattan (used to be the UN Millenium - Broadway) and they are going to stay at some place either in Forest Hills or Jamaica. oh well.

I'm thinking of booking NH1010 sometime in Feb-Mar 2013 and I see 77W on some dates. The seat map shows old F seat but also says "The aircraft of your selected flight is scheduled to be changed. Please kindly be advised that the seat you pre-assigned through the current seat map may change." Does this mean new 77W may be used? Other dates show 777, which I assume is 777-300ER with old seats?

I'm still confused - is this is the old seat or the new one? Thinking of booking C or F in Mar 2013.

When you try to book it, it says "Staggered Business" class, which makes me believe it is actually 77W. I booked it for next year, when seat map loads you get a message indicating that the aircraft will be substituted. Right now the layout is 773, not 77W, but I guess that will change. Does anyone have an update?

Ok, so everyone on here seems to think that this flight is with the OLD C, but the website now shows the NEW C for the dates I want in December.....

Has anyone actually flown this route, or has a link to a report on it I can look at?

I'd really hate to end up with the old seats, especially when I'm expecting the new ones :)

If you had checked the Master Thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18705497-post3.html), you would know that NH1010/1011 are scheduled to have the IOJ configuration on selected dates from 28OCT. These changes were announced later in the year after the original announcement of the flights.

I'm scheduled to fly NRT-JFK on 1010 in first class March 7th... the inferences I'm drawing from the thread here and the Master Thread is that I "might" get the suites and I might get the old product, and there's no real way to know for sure until I get there. Is that accurate, or did I miss something?

Someone will be able to speak to this more authoritatively than me, but I believe to JFK it will be the old first class. I believe upthread they are referring to the business class refurb.

No, the IOJ configuration (the "new" configuration) has both the First Square and Business Staggered seating. NH11/12 will have the IOJ configuration, but whether NH1009/1010 will or not is not confirmed (although judging from a check of seat maps in 2013 it looks pretty certain).

NH1010/1011 operates with the old product 777-300ER every 3 calendar days (start the counting from 09NOV12, 12NOV12, 15NOV12....etc until 19FEB13)

20FEB13 and onwards is IOJ 77W for the moment, last minute aircraft changes to old 77W is still possible.

Thanks, jimyvr. It would be nice if NH actually published this somewhere accessible rather than simply in the GDS, so we appreciate your update.

The GDS lists identical information to ANA's web booking engine, although you have to spend some time search it day by day.

I know; I meant something more along the lines of a promotional page or press release, which NH often creates.

Struggling with transportation ...

I am arriving in NRT on NH1009 at 9:05pm. I have a flight next morning (very early at 7:00am) to CTS out of HND, but can't figure out how to get out of Narita to Haneda "late" at night.

Most trains and limousine buses end their services by 9:30pm or so.

My plan was to go to Haneda and sleep at the capsule hotel in the terminal.

Any thoughts?

Btw, my reservation shows the First Square as the seat, so it seems like the 77W in early January.

Cheers
