To the best of my knowledge and as per bags rules on Iberia site, 1 each, max 23 kgs. Iberia has the annoying practice of not recognizing other OW airlines Elite bag rules except to the USA. Agents, when they are in the know which is not always, will, if they are nice, wave the overweight charge betwwen 23 and 32 kgs, but you cannot count on it.

Just to aviod confusion, would I be correct in guessing these are American Airlines status levels you are talking about?
And not Ibeira ones?

AA Plat is (I believe) only oneworld 'Sapphire' status, and
AA Gold is (I believe) only onewolrd 'Ruby' status

Iberia Plat is the higher oneworld 'Emerald' status
Iberia Gold is oneworld 'Sapphire' status (i.e. IB Gold = AA Plat)
Iberia Silver is oneworld 'Ruby' status (i.e. IB Silver = AA Gold).

[As a British Airways status holder this inflation of status levels (led by AA - so that even the most basic of people is 'Gold') is very silly. Leads to people who have AA Gold (a low Ruby level) trying to get the same/better service as a BA Silver (a higher Sapphire level).]

Anyway, it is as perpublished, as said above.

Bumping this thread rather than start another one.

I know OW status is irrelevant on Iberia when it comes to baggage allowance so we'll only be eligible for class flown which will be Biz on EZE-MAD-EZE. I think I am right in assuming that we are allowed 3 bags each at 23kg or is it 32kg?
We'll only have a max of two each but getting them bang on 23kg might be hard. If we go over 23kg by a few kilos will there be a problem?

IB: "No overweight charge for pieces between 23 and 32 kg / 50 and 70lb as long as the total weight does not exceed the total personal allowance" (Which is 3 x 23 kg).

OW Emeralds do get extra allowance now with IB.

Thanks for that. ^

For the sake of my back I shall be hiding that news from the wife.

I was flying AGP-MAD on Iberia and MAD-DFW on AA as an AA Exp (Emerald) on the same itinerary and the agent refused to grant free bags for the AGP-MAD flight.

What is the recommended approach for a refund? I was met with blank stares from Iberia's customer service in MAD. I have a feeling sending a complaint to them will result in nothing. File a complaint with AA perhaps?
