Virgin Australia Velocity - Flying Codeshare with VA=Any Suggestions

So I am going to be doing a mileage run. Part of my trip involves flying LAX-MEL-PER-BNE-LAX in steerage...DL codeshare on VA metal.

Any recommendations to make a miserable trip as tolerable as possible? I'm on a T fare, so I'll be in [far] back for this trip.

Specifics:
1) Seating suggestions?
2) Will there be wireless internet?
3) Will there be power ports in the cheap seats?
4) Any suggestions for how to spend six hours in PER?

I know that there is a VA lounge that I will have access to as ST Elite Plus and that they have showers, so that will be good.

Any other suggestions/recommendations other than that I should have paid more so that I could sit up front?

As these are VA questions I am moving this thread to their forum where you will receive a better response.

I've tried everything to get a seat on the VA from LAX to MEL...they won't do it and Delta won't help. Not only that but I have to wait until I get there..flying in from Panama thru Atlanta. Even diamond status means nothing...that and apparently you only get 1/2 miles for the trip:(

globecircler: thanks for your post. You mentioned 1/2 mileage credit for economy flights on VA...I was unaware. I double checked and found you were correct. I was still within the window for penalty-free cancellation, so I cancelled and re-booked so that the TPAC segments are now on DL metal. It means that I will miss MEL (which I have been to previously) and BNE (which I have never visited), but the whole purpose of a mileage run is to earn miles, right?!

My itinerary is now TYS-DTW-LAX-SYD-PER-SYD-LAX-ATL-TYS.

BTW: When I booked my original trip (now cancelled) I was completely unable to get LAX-MEL on delta.com. On the other hand, on the Travelocity website, LAX-MEL was easy to book, and LAX-SYD was more difficult.

**I would still appreciate any suggestions as to how to spend six hours in PER.**
