Wondering how many points it would cost from my rewards account for 2business class airfare tickets to Europe? Worth it or not? Destinations are Athens and return to us from Istanbul. Tia

that would depend on where you starting from; ie. China to Europe; Africa to Europe, Asia to Europe; US/Canada to Europe...... would also depend on airlines to be used........

Unless I'm totally unaware of something, the point calculation is based on the airline and has nothing to do with Marriott. The only role that Marriott Rewards could possibly play is transferring points from your MR account to your airline of choice as part of a seven-night redemption package - where you would be able to transfer up to 120,000 points (at a 1:1 basis) in concert with a seven night Marriott reward.

Marriott now allows you to book car rentals and air tickets with Marriott points.
The conversion ratio is horrible - don't use your Marriott points to book airfare, use them for hotel stays.

Directly for tickets? A jillion.
Worth it or not?
Definitely not.
What could be worthwhile however, if you're sitting on 600,000 or so Marriott points, is converting two Travel Packages to generate 2 hotel weeks and 240,000 miles on one of several airlines. That would be enough to cover two J seats to Europe.
Marriott has some nice properties in Turkey and Greece at which to use the hotel weeks, although it's certainly not required to use the airline miles and the hotel certificates on the same trip. But redeeming Travel Packages does put you in the enviable position of figuring out where to use two Marriott hotel weeks in the next year, so keep that in mind...
You may also look at which airlines have the best availability to/from Greece and Turkey before selecting a redemption partner. It may or may not be Delta from Atlanta. Not sure how easy/convenient an open-jaw on DL would be. Might be easier to do this one as Star Alliance and separate one-ways.
