Hello, hope you're well.

I'm looking to get myself on an NYC/BOS - TPA/SRQ flight in either February or early April (depending on when we visit from the UK), and I've noticed that JetBlue have just released their fares for this period.

However I'm very suprised that many of the fares seem extremely high.

Does this indicate that JetBlue release fares gradually with the highest first, and some lower fares coming online later?

Thanks for any advice or assistance

February thru April there is alot of peak travel periods that you have fly around to avoid the higher pricing. You have President's week where kids are off from school in February, you have college spring breaks in March or April and Spring recess. Flying midweek will give you a better chance at lower rates with jetblue. Also make sure your not flying during any of the weeks listed above.

Yes. In my experience, except for very holiday (school break) periods, JetBlue keeps their prices high until 6-8 weeks before departure.

Unless you're planning to fly B6 just once this year, you can always buy now and watch the fare zealously. If the fare drops from what you originally paid, you can get a credit.

As a data point: couple years ago I flew BOS-FLL the Friday before Presidents Day. Even though I was tracking the fare for 5 months before departure, it never went below $300 ow! I finally relented 4 weeks in advance and bought it for $325. After that, it soon skyrocketed to $900.

Thanks for the replies everyone. The route we're looking at is either BOS or JFK to TPA/SRQ around 16th-23rd Feb or from 30th March into the first 2 weeks of April.

I see fares from $145 - $400 ow, depending on the day you fly.

Dieuwer2, how does one do that? It looks on the website like the Best Fare Guarantee only applies the same day as initial purchase.
