Air New Zealand Air Points - New One Up bidding

Hey all - I'm an AirNZ gold elite and have always booked coach but gone for PE upgrades (and generally had them come thru)

The new one up situation kind of sucks in that I have zero visibility over whether or not I'll actually get my upgrade till only a few days out

I've done a few one-up bids for later travel and have just been bidding the standard A$220 that the econ to PE u/g used to cost - wondering if anyone has had success with one up bids and what sort of $$$ amount seems to do the job....
