Travel Products - Reliable 25-28" lightweight piece of luggage for <$100?

Hey.. anyone have suggestions on a 25-28" lightweight checked bag for the occasional flyer? I typically only bring a carry-on but have an upcoming trip or two that I am going to need to check a bag. Any suggestions? Would also be great to have some sort of straps to attach a carry-on so you could wheel them together easier.

It seems pretty hard to find reviews on bags - any thoughts on how reliable ebags.com's reviews are? Their own ebags brand seems to be the highest rated which is always suspect.

Ordinarily I would be suspicious of a 25-inch bag <$100, but Atlantic is a good brand. I buy from ebags all the time and do trust their reviews, but read many of them before making a decision. I would definitely avoid a spinner-style bag. I had very bad luck with an inexpensive one I bought, one of the wheels got ripped off and it couldn't be repaired. The airline told me to take a hike when I tried to file a claim.

We like Heys luggage -- light weight, semi-hardside. I have a 20" in which I pack for a month trip and check the bag. I slip my smaller carryon bag over the handle and we're off. Husband has 24"(maybe it's a 25") - ditto. I have checked mine on at least 8 trips overseas and it's still in near-perfect shape -- just a couple of scuff marks. I paid $98 for mine; husband paid just over $100 for his.
