Trip Reports - TG-Land [Photo report]

Hi there,

This is my first (photo) trip report here on FT. I hope you'll enjoy it.

After graduating from University of Zurich and after 5 years of staff travel mainly on SWISS - I used to work for Swissport here in Zurich - I treated myself to a trip to Thailand on Thai Airways in Royal First Class thanks to US Airways Dividend Miles.

Thai Airways gets a lot of poor reviews on some of the forums, I felt great on these flights though. The crew on the FRA-BKK leg was great. When I woke up, the sun was just rising over Afghanistan and I went to the huge gallley on the 744 to take some pictures. Some of the crew were there taking pictures as well and we chatted a bit about aviation and Thailand.

The leg to CDG was a very long 12-hour day flight, but I enjoyed every minute of it in my suite on this ex-JetAirways 77W. I've been on SWISS First and I know they have much better food, but Thai in general is just fine. They for sure have the best ground service in BKK and they take you where you need to go safely.

Very nice -- and some of it is very familiar (I just posted a TR with several TG flights in F)!!!

You have a very good eye. But I suspect that you captured the images as jpegs rather than raw files. You can take your images to the next level by capturing them as raw files and then processing them into jpegs.

EDIT: Looking again, I noticed that your color balance is very accurate in almost every frame, so perhaps you did process the images from raw files -- but made very subtle adjustments?

It's all RAW, but yeah I do tend to make only small adjustments. I run it through Lightroom 3 basically and that's it.

BTW you captured some great shots on your last trip. The people shots have a bit too much distortion for my taste, have you ever thought of bringing a 50mm along? What programm do you process your shots with?

Best pictures I've seen from a TR! Great job!

I love reading about Thailand and because it is familar, I enjoy TR on Thai Airways. My travel makes it what is called a no brainer to choose Thai. I must congratulate you on the photos they are brilliant. I love the ones of the boots and the street signs. The beach looks inviting, love to know how to get there
