I did a search and most recent info was from 2008. How does this hotel treat golds? I'm arriving on Friday checking out Saturday.

What are experiences with cy and ri tgat are near by.

Thanks.

It's a big convention hotel, not particularly good, in the downtown business area (office buildings, not an interesting neighborhood and not real close to the good restaurant areas). Stay here if you have a meeting in the hotel.

Our son lives in downtown Philadelphia, so we either stay in the Hyatt or the Courtyard. I do not usually care for CY, but this one is excellent, a historic property with excellent staff. I cannot specifically speak to treatment of Golds, but treatment of Plat is above average.

As I do not care for the CY breakfast, we generally head out the "back" door and into Reading Terminal Market for breakfast. Since CY has a fridge, can also pick up some snacks, wine, etc for our stay.

MSP is correct, it isn't exactly in the center of restaurant row...but easy enough to get a cab right outside the CY.

Absolutely no reservations in recommending it.

Thx. This was helpful. I had a good stay in cy several years ago, but enjoyed the restaurant at the Marriott more . The rooms were nice but the service at front desk was a bit curt when we checked in.

Stayed there 3 weeks AGO as a PLT Premier on a Sat night during a 100 degree+ weekend on points, was there for an outdoor concert at the Mann Center. Rate was $259+.

Got upgraded to a Jr Suite on a top floor, nice but noisy as heck the next AM with all the self-slamming doors around us. Arranged it in advance with the Virtual Concierge, I doubt the "curt" front desk would have done that if asked, they looked annoyed when I asked about breakfast coupons (no) in lieu of the closed lounge.

Oddities I recall -

No bell captains perched outside when dropping off the car for valet but they jumped to us once we struggled inside with the luggage. Guess it was too hot for them too...

Really could have used a late night swim after the very hot concert, fitness center was 24 hours but pool locked up at 10pm.

Usual battle with the late checkout but ultimately got a 2pm.

Called down for the car at 2pm as instructed to do at check-in to give 15 minutes advance notice. Phone not answered or thrown into voice-mail with a recording that they are very busy and to just come on down. For $45 per night I wasn't going to wait in the heat waiting for the car. Front Desk tried for me but got same response and gave up. So I called and called for 1/2 hour in my air conditioned suite, past checkout, and finally got someone. Good thing we were in no rush.

Must have been multiple wedding going on that evening.

There you have it, ok for me given it was on points...

I'll be using public transportation so the parking won't be an issue. Sounds like its hit or miss what kind if experience I'll have. The curt check in was at the cy. Hopefully I'll get lucky this time.

A short walk to Philly's Chinatown area from the downtown Marriott --- very convenient location for that part of town.

They have designated "quiet rooms" --- we got one and it was very quiet, but for the teen girls in the hallway chatting about 11 pm one night. A quick call to the front desk got them back inside their rooms.
