Going to be spending 4 nights in the area. Meetings downtown SF and Mountain View. Currently HH Gold. Prefer a hotel with good breakfast upgrade &/or executive floor.

If nothing that special is available, then what about Embassy near the SFO airport?

This is a personal preference, I like the hilton financial district best. In fact I stay there each time I go to sf. New hotel, good with upgrades, convenient parking (you'll need to drive to mountain view). I dislike the hilton near union square. Horrifically outdated rooms, massive hotel, and too busy of an area for me (though some may prefer to be closer to union square than chinatown/fidi).

+1 on the Hilton FD. The executive lounge is a nice perk for elites. Otherwise, I would skip the ES near SFO. The property is aging and the lines at breakfast are usually long. For a stay near SFO, I would pick the Hilton. The rooms are updated, new fitness center and elites have access to the exec. lounge on 15th floor.

The Embassy north of SFO is extremely mediocre, imo. One of the worse ES breakfast setups I've seen.

The absolute best upgrade I have had an SFO HHonors property (and I've stayed at most of them) was the Hilton Garden Inn south of the airport. And the breakfast was fantastic.
