Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Business Class Award Availability HKG-PNH

I realize this is a YMMV question, but what is the likelihood of Dragon Air opening up partner award availability closer to the date of departure? I'm looking to book a one-way Business Class award on 10/16 from HKG-PNH. Both 10/15 and 10/17 have availability, but 10/16 does not and my dates are not flexible without changing other flights. There is Economy availability on 10/16 and inventory shows J5/C2/I0 on 10/16 if that helps. I don't mind holding out for Business Class if there is a good chance of it opening up, but if not I should probably just book the Economy award now.

I had a similar issue w/ Phuket to HKG on KA last year....waiting forever for seats to open up, either business or economy. Preferred economy, but finally some seats opened up maybe a month or so before the flight date, in business only.

Ended up just booking that to be safe. Checked later on, economy never opened up.

SO...in your case since you see the economy i'd take that and see if they can change you to business without a change fee later. If not, it's such a short flight you don't even get to appreciate business class. You don't want to be stuck without a award seat at all later in case they don't release seats.
