With the Swedish krona gaining ground against the Danish Krone/Euro it seems it might actually be cheaper to purchase train tickets for the Oresundsbron in Denmark rather than Sweden. Does anyone know the price for a single, return and 5x round trip clip ticket if purchased from DSB?

Until the DKK-denominated single trip drops below 85SEK, I will continue to buy the tickets in Sweden.

Just incase anyone else was wondering I did some searching today and found this on DSB Øresund's website (http://dsboresund.dk/files/Billetter_Koebenhavn.pdf). I still cannot find anything about return tickets for an adult or family if anyone can share that info it would be greatly appreciated.

From Copenhagen to Malmö
----------------------------
one-way ticket is 86 DKK (bought from DSB) - 105 SEK (bought from Skånetrafiken)
family one-way is 136 DKK (bought from DSB) - 189 SEK (bought from Skånetrafiken)
5x return clip ticket is 670 DKK

Right now the wholesale exchange rate is around 1 SEK = 1.12945 DKK
So if you bought a one-way adult ticket from DSB it would cost you around 97.133 SEK and the tickets would cost the same if 1 SEK = 1.2209 DKK.
Family ticket would cost 153.61 SEK if bought from DSB and the tickets would cost the same if 1 SEK = 1.3897.

The whole public transport system (at least on the swedish side) is built on single trip tickets. However, you can buy a return ticket for the bridge crossing, but I don't think there is much to gain. There is no mention of the price on their website, I think the price is just twice the single price. So the only reason to buy would be convenience.

One thing about this return ticket is that is has a very short validity. You need to do the return trip within 24 hours.

PS
If you are looking to shave the last kronas of the price, the pre-paid charge card "jojo reskassa" will reduce all ticket prices by 20%. As the minimum amount to pre-pay is 200 SEK, and it is a bit difficult to get any residual value back, one need to do some calculations to find if it is worth it or not.

That method of single ticket purchase drives down the cost to around 85SEK one-way and is good for unlimited travel on day of purchase within the relevant zoned as long as the bridge is only crossed once on a ticket.

Www.blocket.se has had loaded cards available for sale.

Starting later this summer, those cards will no longer be free, so I am essentially stacking up on a bunch of them for later use.

Actually Pressbyrån, coop and 7-eleven sells pre-pre-paid jojo reskassa (as these vendors cannot charge the cards, they have a stack of cards with 200SEK previously charged to them.)

Will there be a fee for getting the card later on? Did not see this news.

A lawyer involved with the company had told me that Skanetrafiken will start charging a fee for the cards (loaded or not) starting sometimes in August or September. At least that was the plan of which they were aware. For some reason, I thought it was also in the news but I am not positive about what the news in the region may have covered on this matter. Whether or not the partner retail sellers intend to charge a fee going forward or not, I do not know; but I would be surprised if Skanetrafiken cuts them a break when Skanetrafiken offices start charging a fee for the cards themselves.

[I referred to blocket.se because it has been a way to get jojo cards without having to purchase a 200SEK card.]

I have now been told the information about the change is on the skanetrafiken.se website but is sort of buried: starting 16th of August the card will cost 10SEK -- very cheap given the discount that comes with its use.

Found the info now, starting 16 aug the fee will be 10SEK (non-refundable, presumably) for each new card. Not much per se, but will further dilute the discount for someone buying it as a one time card to get the 20%.
