If I already own a basic Rapid Rewards card (which I have had for several years), can I also qualify for a Visa Signature Rapid rewards card? I'm asking because of the signup bonus.

I am fairly certain the answer is no. But you can have both a personal card and a business card as they are considered different products. You should be able to find a Business Card sign up similar to the standard.

Try this link for the 50K point bonus Business Card. (http://www.mychasecreditcards.com/T600-009/Default.aspx?LP=6000245&CELL=6ZZR&vanity=southwest/2ffpartnersplus)

The premiere has a higher annual fee, but the annual bonus covers the cost.

Actually, you can have both a plus and a premier card. Since it's been some time since you've had the other card it shouldn't be a problem getting another. I have both the Plus and the Premier cards right now. Next churn is the business card!!

I was told that my Plus card would be upgraded to a Premier card. How did you get both at the same time?

I did not get them at the same time. I put 90 days in between each application. Maybe chase caught on to this and changed the rules, but I got the Plus back in January, and I got the Premier in March.

Just to be clear, for those of you who have both, is the signup bonus from the premier card deposited in your current rapid rewards account? So, you have two cards tied to the one account?

The signup bonus was deposited into my current RR account when I got my first bill. The same thing with the Plus card. I also had to pay my first annual fee for both cards on the first statement.

I'm not convinced that the basic card is the same as the Plus or Premier nor that there's a time requirement between applications. If you really wanted, it might have been possible to apply for all 4 at the same time. Although that would be a non-optimal strategy for CP purposes.
