Star Alliance - Luggage checked through?

Flying JFK-FRA-VIE-SOF. All *A (SQ-LH-OS), will be checking bags.

My question - whey I check them at JFK, will they be checked straight through to SOF or will I have to recover them anywhere and re-check?
