Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs - China Airlines 747 retrofit - SFO - TPE (coach)

Hi, I hope this is the right subforum for this question. I heard China Airlines have updated (some of) their 747s to in-seat TVs, AVOD entertainment, etc. So, we are planning a honeymoon in Sept 2012. SFO - TPE - BKK - PAR. Just want to make sure the SFO - TPE flight has in-seat TVs in economy class. My Taiwanese friend told me to avoid China Airlines because the planes are "old" inside. But if all the planes have been retrofitted, then it should be OK, because the inflight service is great otherwise. Does anyone know if all the trans-Pacific 744s are updated? I hope so because it's $100s cheaper than the competition for the times/dates we want. Cheers!

They should all be retrofitted by then.

They're still "old" on the inside. It's literally just new seats.

But each seat should have personal entertainment where you can pause, restart different movies, TV shows, etc?
