Hi
I am new to this forum but I travel a lot. I have am upcoming trip and I have been told I can have a return business class flight from London to Sao Paulo.

My question is which airline would people recommend for the best business class direct flight and why?

I appreciate the sharing of your experience.

Seems to be 3 options. BA, TAM and LAN. Personally I would go BA as you can rely on their product. If you also can MFU to First it will be very enjoyable.

Yes definitely fly BA as the lounges and inflight service is superior to anything that TAM offers nowadays sadly.
The United Club lounge at Sao Paulo which BA uses is pretty damn good. Not sure if the TAM lounge at GRU has been improved or not but the last time I was there it was overcrowded and not a nice place to be in.

I would fly TAM. I like their seats on long-haul J, you´ll get a fairly new 777 and my experiences with the service are generally quite good.

I agree with HIDDY about the lounge at GRU, it gets crowded and offers are not very good.

I don´t know what lounge TAM uses at LHR ( at JFK they use Virgin´s and that´s a really nice lounge ).

It also comes down if you´re a FF on any alliance ?

Yes nothing too wrong with TAM although like most airlines their long haul J product has suffered from some cost cutting over the years...I noticed a difference the last time I flew to London with them.

I just think that the BA Club World product is a notch above TAM and BA are certainly more reliable when it comes to dealing with customer service issues. I also like the early morning arrival time at LHR and hate the late night TAM departure from GRU although if you want to sleep then that one might be better.

I wouldn't hesitate flying with TAM again but if using my own cash I would fly BA.

I agree with your post when it comes to being more reliable. My preference is probably a personal one and the fact that I´m "loyal" to *A whenever possible to keep Gold status.

Updating my above post TAM uses *A Lounge in Terminal 1 at LHR.

Not sure I'd go for any service on the basis of its lounges. My aim is always to spend the minimum time at the airport.

Drivers for my selection of carrier are ££££, on-board comfort and timings. I'm happy to sacrifice travel time and connections for lower fares, and like the daytime flights via Lisbon on TP.

I'm a total fan of the Swiss C-cabin. Lufthansa makes it onto the list (just!) when it has low(er) fares via consolidators, the Munich A340 preferred to the B747 out of FRA.

TAM I like because it puts me immediately in Brasil mode, and of course it's direct non-stop.

I can never afford/justify BA prices, though its fares to Rio can be more accessible.
