bmi diamond club - bmi domestic product
Flying my first bmi domestic since the move to BA flight numbers. Flight is shown as still operating by bmi, so should be bmi crew on a brown cow plane.
I believe by now they're using the BA caterers. Is the offering identical to BA or are they're still some subtle differences (e.g. on BA London Pride is considered a premium drink on shorthaul so isn't on domestics and only in Club Europe on SH flights)?
At EDI can I choose either the BA or bmi lounge (if they're both open)?
Will the safety announcement still have a light... and a whistle?

Having taken a bmi-op'd BA domestic flight to BHD earlier this week, I can say that:
1. The catering is to BA specification (including BA-branded paper cups) - though I can't comment on specific drinks available
2. The safety announcement is still the original -and very familiar- bmi announcement
Not entirely sure about the lounge access bit, but I'd be surprised that you couldn't access either lounge given both the progress with integration - and more particularly, noting BD and BA S status are attached to your handle.
I also noted that the captain in his pre-flight announcement put considerable emphasis on "This is a bmi aircraft and is operated by bmi crew". I think I got a whiff of subtext...

Catering is identical to BA, using BA caterers, equipment and so on. Have a look in the galley and you'll see all the carts, stowage cannisters and even coffee pots are BA branded. Can't always guarantee that the service will be quite as slick as our BA colleagues as the crew have had no training, just an A4 handout and a quick poke about in the trolley before take off!

It is the Breakfast Panini on the BHD, MAN & NCL flights (similar to this offering on a LGW flight)

It was the panini also the EDI-LHR flight this week

Just for clarity's sake was this a BD operated flight (BA8xxx) or a regular BA flight into T5?
Perhaps there'll be a temporary inconsistency of product until the BD flights to/from T1 are stopped.

The BMI aircraft have less galley space than the BA airbuses and it may be a lack of ovens that prevents the regular hot breakfast being served ex Scotland. I know there were concerns as to how we were going to get all our normal catering to fit on a BMI aircraft...
