InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Extra Person Charge.......starting with the 2nd Adult

I'm searching for rooms in Sao Paulo for a double room and it's giving this bizarre quote.

Extra Person Charge: R$ 40.00 BRL per extra adult starting with the 2nd Adult

Why don't they just quote the cost of a double room instead of some stupid add-on charge?
