Hello all, been a while. Just a question I should have known the answer after flying in and out SFO two times a year since 2006...

I am flying out this coming weekend with 2 suitcases (31" and 26") to be checked in. Normally I will just take bart or got drop off from downtown after dinner then check in around 10pm.

But this time, I have a new scheduled dinner at Millbrae at 7pm... Im wondering, if i could

a) check-in early around noon when CX879 doing their patch, then I hang around south bay or take bart back to downtown

b) Left baggage service at SFO (store luggage before dinner then onward to Millbrae)? are they just lockers or like those we've got in HKG? Anyone know their rate? they only publish their operating hours on flysfo.com
(Other FT pages have old quotes only)

Cheers,
P.S. Inbound CX870 on 744 was TERRIBLE, hope they retire them soon....

No, you can't do that. Typically you can check bags no earlier than 4 hours pre-flight at US airports. Similar question here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cathay-pacific-asia-miles/1360399-lax-early-baggage-checkin.html).

US airports also generally don't have baggage lockers (it's a security thing).

What I would do is stop at the Westin Millbrae, which is right next to SFO (they even have a free shuttle to/from the airport). Or alternatively the SFO Hyatt. Either of them should have a bell desk that will check your bags for you (be sure and tip them when you pick up your bags later). Then taxi to dinner and back, and get the free hotel shuttle back to the airport.

SFO does have a baggage storage facility in the International Terminal, just behind the UA check-in counters. Last time I went through SFO in 2011 it was still in service.

Oops yep, that's true. But it's a private travel agency that charges $12/day (not hourly) per bag. Yelp link (http://www.yelp.com/biz/airport-travel-agency-san-francisco-2). There's no cheapo lockers.

private travel agency works, thank you all... that was at the left hand side of the International terminal, now i understand why it doesn't ring the bell at all...

p.s. got exit row and a seat blocked for Y... I was happy enough...
