I would advise people to stay away from this hotel!

A Heathrow airport hotel receptionist who hid in a bed for two days after killing two of his colleagues has been found guilty of their murder.

Attila Ban, 32, stabbed to death Tibor Vass and Alice Adams in the Radisson Edwardian Hotel's staff accommodation last August, the Old Bailey heard.

Ban evaded police, investigators and a pathologist by climbing into a divan bed, which Mr Vass's body was lying on.

Miss Adams had been stabbed 22 times. All three had worked at the hotel.

Mr Vass, a student from Hungary, had been due to return home.

The court heard that Ban, who is also Hungarian, had developed a crush on Mr Vass and was devastated when he found out that he was due to leave. Mr Vass was heterosexual and did not return his feelings.

Miss Adams, of Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, had only been working at the hotel for three weeks. She was described as popular and fun-loving.

Police were called after Ban, who had climbed into the bed with his mobile phone, updated his Facebook page, saying "I would like to wake up from this nightmare", and all three failed to turn up for work.

It's a terrible situation, but that's a pretty childish comment - are you somehow blaming the hotel for this?

What a naive post.

To generalise about a hotel who held no responsibility for this is utter nonsensical.

Quite.

Why? This could have happened anywhere (and certainly has).

Having stayed at this hotel in the distant past, I would also recommend staying away from it, but for a different reason: it's not a very good hotel. But then I would say that for the entire current lot of Bath Road (A4) Heathrow area hotels.

Agree with the general sentiment of not blaming the hotel for the actions of a single deranged employee.

Indeed (to be serious), it's a horrible event and I feel so sad for all involved.

I share your sentiment regarding the hotel though, having stayed there also!

I would definitely not stay at the Heston Travelodge though :) .

Really? I sometimes use the Ibis there as a cheap stay the night before for super early flights (e.g. 7am) the next morning that I can't tube it to in time and don't want the hassle of taking the night bus. The Ibis is basic but does the job.

They've been murdered in their houses too. Why don't you hide under your bed? It should be safe there ;)

I thought the Duvet had magical powers to stop anything reaching you, hence why people hide underneath it. ;):D

Good point. Maybe all the murders happen during summer when it's too hot to use a duvet? ;) And it's only going to get worse with this global warming!! :P

They aren't all bad in the Bath Road area.

Over the last few years I've stayed at the Marriott, Novotel, Sheraton and Holiday Inn and had very comfortable stays at all of them. For airport hotels I thought they were all above average.

Past performance is not necessarily an indicator of future capabilities.
