Which configuration does it have? And how would i find this out?

Is it
A) Old Seats, where you get 2 seats per passanger, but neither is truely a bed.
B) Crappy newer first where the seat becomes a bed.
C) New first where the is a full lie flat bed next to the seat.

Also, how do I figure out which routes ex-fra offer option C?

Er ... in this thread (that started in February) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/miles-more-lufthansa-austrian-swiss-other-partners/1318664-new-first-class-retrofit-thread.html

According to http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/miles-more-lufthansa-austrian-swiss-other-partners/1318664-new-first-class-retrofit-thread.html

D-ABVL and D-ABVM both are retrofitted.

According to http://data.flight24.com/flights/lh402/ those are the planes that normally fly this route.

The question though is this the seat next to the lie flat bed configuration? I think there may be 2 new first configurations in F on LH right now.

For example I don't think the A380 provides a full bed next to the seat.

I want a flight EU-US with the full bed, I much prefer this.

You need to look for a flight on the 744 in that case. The 744 are the only aircraft that have the bed and the seat. I don't think all the 744 are retrofitted either- I would comb through the other threads posted to see what you can find out. The 748 and the A388 and the A330/A340 ALL do not and will not offer the configuration you are speaking of.

Personally for such a short flight I would just look for the most convenient time of departure and/or connection- and if you want the nicer overall F product go for LX which is usually about the same price anyway in F.

Aww but i'm using miles and can't find anything on Swiss available EU -> US departing Friday the 20th in First for one person.

Aside from the 744 (and potentially the a380 - haven't flown it yet), I'm not impressed with any of lufthansa's other first class offerings.

If it is a 747-400, then only options A and C exist. If it is a 747-8 or A380, then only option B exists. If it is any other type of plane, then only options A and B (A w/ one seat) exist.

I am not sure many people would describe the new F seat as 'crappy'.
