Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Checking J Upgrade Availability

Hi, have done a number of searches and checked the sticky but could not see this anywhere....

If I'm going to buy a K-Class Economy Fare with the intention to upgrade to business using Asia Miles....

What is the Business Fare Class Bucket I need to check for availability?

I'm guessing it's either D or I?

Do a redemption booking as if you are going to buy a J class fare with miles outright. If there is availability, then you can upgrade also.

While this is ususally the case, there are sometimes minor discrepencies between the normal award availability and the UG availability, even though both book into U. The only source to accurately check it is MPO / AM call centre.
