American Express Membership Rewards - AMEX Platinum - additional card spending limit to zero

Hi All,

We are ordering additional cards for AMEX Platinum, and would like to get a card for each of our parents. That said, don't want them to be able to go nuts with the spending on our account (the main reason we'd like to do this is to give them airport lounge access for when they travel)...

Is there a way to set the spending limit to $1 or zero, and they can still benefit from the card beneifts on the lounge access?

Thanks!

Call amex, they can set a limit.

I don't think you can set it to $1 or $0, but a low limit like $100 is certainly possible.

I know of at least one case of a Centurion with a limit of less than $100.

It's a minimum $200 limit for additional cards. They can set it by phone for you or you can do it online.

I set my nieces and nephews Cent cards at $100 - the minimum.

Interesting. Amex said minimum is $200 and that's also the lowest I could set online.

I was just about to ask this very question myself. Great to know--I trust my family, but it's still better safe than paying off $x0,000 a family member racked up.
