American Express Membership Rewards - AMEX Platinum - travel profile

Hi All,

Just received the AMEX Platinum card, and am trying to take advantage of all the benefits. Specifically, I would like to start using AMEX Travel on a more regular basis to take advantage of the 2x Membership Rewards points (assuming prices / fees are not higher).

Questions:

1) Is it possible to store online my frequent flyer numbers for easy entry to make an online reservation (I've seen a form that we can fill out for calling the AMEX travel desk, but often like to make the reservation myself instead of talking to a person).

2) Are there additional fees associated with making a reservation through AMEX travel for flights, hotels, car rentals?

3) What is your experience with making reservations through AMEX travel (vs. an Orbitz, or Delta / AA websites directly)? Specifically interested in cost of the reservation.
