I've recently joined DC in order to take advantage of some arbitrage opportunities in order to help boost my Avios balance.
So far I have got the the BMI Plus card bonus from MBNA and putting good on the Visa which is posting regularly like clockwork, but it seems to be taking rather a long time for Hilton stays and Worldpoints transfer.
Hilton stays were on 8th June and 9th July, showing as done on hilton.com but nothing posted to BMI yet :(
Worldpoints transfer was on 26th June, nothing posted to BMI yet :(
Transferred some to Avios on the same day and they posted on 3rd July.
Is this normal? How long should it normally take?
Am I just being really impatient?
Thanks

In the DC world, I would not even start to worry if points haven't posted in 3 months - you've got a bit of waiting to do.
Is this normal? How long should it normally take?
Yes. A few more months.
Am I just being really impatient?
Yes. DC is even more designed to reward actual flyers (not serial shoppers) than EC.
Also, with the departure of our esteemed DC staff members, I doubt a few points from Hilton or Worldpoints are of a concern at the Hall!

Oh well, I guess I'll just go over to the even darker side and try crediting stuff to IB Plus instead, I'm far to impatient/risk averse for this lark :)
I really hope the BMI Plus card lasts a while as I'm putting 5-10K a month on it and there's no other Visa worth using really apart from Beardie's but that's just a step too far for me!
If they do stop it eventually, I'll probably look at AA more seriously, those RTW Explorer rewards look interesting :)

Actually, Hilton has in the past always posted on the first Tuesday of the month; as it was a manual file load, it was performed by Joanna. She's gone, so one of the systems people should be looking after this.
I will contact DiamondClubQueries to follow this up.

I'll wait until next month and if the 2 stays don't post together than I'll chase it.

Just got a call back from BMI "Treats" department, in relation to a call I made last week chasing up these points and was told, wait for it.......
Diamond Club is non-existant now, so that is why you won't get any more points.

Yeah, not exactly correct. or if it is, no one has told us that.
Considering BA has just assigned a lurker to this forum, I think it unlikely that there will be no more miles posted to DC account - that would be switching off the lights on the way out the door.

I'm sure most have already done so, and with the greatest respect to those left holding the fort at the Hall trying their best, but irrespective of any reduction in value of points earned, it's about time people started posting hotel and any other non-airline partner miles (are there any?) somewhere else. Unless you actually enjoy the arse ache, of course.....
bmi Credit Card is it for me now and they post automatically without a human involved.

Given IB's non-reputation for administration efficiency, why wouldn't you credit to BA? :confused:

Hilton->IB = 750 Avios per stay ^
Hilton->BA = 500 Avios per stay :td:
Accor->IB = 2:5 (10 Avios per euro spend as a Plat) ^
Accor->BA = 2:1 (2 Avios per euro spend as a Plat) :td:
I have just had a Accor stay posted to IB, we'll see how long that takes :D

Yes 10 per euro is quite phenomenal, I'm considering changing my hotel habits because of this but Sofitel are usually quite expensive and the cheaper Accor brands just aren't as nice as Hilton.

Sage advice. Given most of my Hilton stays are 1 night, 1000 VS miles is a decent substitute. booking.com have an arrangement with A3 which helps the balance there.

Just out of interest, do people here think that Hilton stays in September will pay out miles to bmi and that those miles will be able to be converted to Avios?
I'm getting a bit wary about booking stays with Hilton .... concerned I might not get *any* miles/Avios because either the entire bmi FF program gets shut down or the bmi miles > Avios exchange gets shut down ...?

I don't think the DC to Avios exchange will shut ahead of the DC programme. Equally I would expect some notice of Diamond Club finally being wound up - it may only be a month of two but sufficient time to ensure your HH account is updated accordingly.
One tangential point - does a HH booking pick up your FFP at the point of booking or when you check in? Might make a difference at the point of transition. Apologies for the OT. :)

Well, I hope you're right! The Europcar <> bmi relationship was shut down rather rapidly. A forward booking I had made with Europcar ended up earning me nothing. Would have gone with Avis had I had known....

Definitely picked up at time of booking but I gather you can change it (if necessary) when you actually check-in...

Remember, DC and BAEC are owned (and now managed) by the same people. Quite literally! Given the largely sensible approach BA have taken to date with the FFP - status matching, transfers - I see no reason for undue fear about the final end. That'll just be very, very sad instead.
Thanks for the steer about changing FFP. Both VS and IB look useful if less lucrative alternative options...

It does pick it up at the time of booking, you can check this if you click on the reservation number in your HH account.
If you have a changeable reservation the call center should be able to update this for you, if not, you will need to get this changed at the property before you check out.
Also, beware the code for BMI on Hilton's systems is BM, not BD.
The printed bill you get when you check out shows your FF program, if it's wrong you can get them to change it before you make payment. This happened to me last week. They struggled to find out where the FF number could be changed, so I ended up popping behind the counter briefly to help them find it :D

My last round of miles from Hilton posted two weeks ago. Another 6000 miles earned two weeks ago have yet to post.
Surprising enough, I'm re-evaluating whether to continue with Hilton now that we can no longer earn BMI miles.

Give it another couple of weeks, the points from the previous month post during the middle of the next month, at least that is how it has been the pst couple of months.
You could open an Iberia account and get 750 Avios per stay which you can transfer to BA, failing that I think you can get 1,000 Beardiemiles instead.

When was that announced?
Although they take a while to post I have every confidence we'll receive miles up until they announce an official end date.
So I'll keep crediting to Hilton until bmi tells me otherwise.
If you have a Hilton booking made for the future and the partnership is over by the time of your stay you can just ask reception to change it to Iberia.
Once the bmi partnership is over it may see me using the Hilton less, the excellent earnings on bmi have certainly made it worth my while choosing them.

It wasn't. Hilton continues to accrue bmi miles. bmipedia no longer gets you miles.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted, time to switch Hilton earning preference to IB, sob sob :(
So long and thanks for all the fish!

I reckon you will get those in the next few days, but I wouldn't risk using BMI for Hilton booking during october unless Nicci says it's safe to do so, as they will only be paid in November after DC has shut down.

If Nicci says its OK, It should be fine.
I'm surprised Hilton hasn't sent out a message regarding this.
I don't suppose their system is clever enough to stop people using BMI for bookings after that date, or if indeed people have existing bookings with the number already entered.
