Europe - 8 days in Montenegro/Croatia

Hi there - we have eight days to make our way from Podgorica to Zagreb in late August.

Can anyone recommend must-sees? We were hoping to spend a day or two in Podgorica and maybe a day or two at Kotor, but are very open-minded otherwise.

We are hoping to use public transport (mainly bus) and avoid any particularly long journeys at any one point.

Any and all advice is much appreciated!

Budva, Kotor, Perast in Montenegro, Dubrovnik, Trogir, Plitvicki Jezera park and you can throw in an island if you have time in Croatia. Podgorica is very small and not too interesting from what I know.
