I am wait-listed on two flights for J-class availability. If you have a compelling story, or try hard enough, they open additional award seats for you. J will open up if there are enough places available. dont expect that if there are only a few seats available, that J will open up. it might happen, but dont count on that. just take a look at the flights to/from HKG/BKK that elal decided to sell F class on each day (except from the 747 with no F). sometimes there is only one pax in the entire F section, instead of opening it up and allowing to sell 12 more biz seats. go figure... and they overbook the C section, as they know they can upgrade people to F in case of everyone showing up. |
