Hi all, I recently booked tickets to MNL from JFK in January. I have some asiamiles I wanted to use for a one way upgrade for the segment between JFK and HKG and when I called the asiamiles number to inquire about this, they said that a one way upgrade from economy to business would require 85,000 miles (jfk to hkg) but on the website it indicates that it is 45,000.
The ticket is an economy core (K). is that why it takes an additional 40,000 on top of what is showing on the website? Appreciate any input!

One-way upgrade, economy to business, from JFK to HKG: 45,000 miles
Round trip upgrade, economy to business, from JFK to HKG to JFK: 80,000 miles

Essentially a one way upgrade would cost 5000 miles more than if you did a round trip. I believe this is where your discrepancy comes from.
