Le Club Accorhotels - Points for 2 rooms / Export booking to Outlook

I'm new to Le Club so haven't quite got up to speed with the rules. I did search for this info but couldn't find a definitive answer.

Firstly - I want to book three rooms for one week, for myself and two colleagues. Everything will be charged to my bill - will I be able to get points for all three rooms or just my own?

Secondly - is there any way to save a booking directly as a calender entry in Outlook? Most of the other chains have this feature, but on the few bookings I've made with Accor so far, I can't see it anywhere.

The terms and conditions state that you will only get points for a maximum of two rooms.

As far as I understand the rules, the other room would need to be occupied by one of your children. And I suspect you may have a job passing off one of your colleagues as one of your children....

Seriously, if you want to maximise benefits, get both your colleages to enrol in Le Club Accorhotels, so that they may pick up points from the stay (if within the t and c).

The second room does not have to occupied by relatives, anyone will do.

Points accrual is hit and miss, in some cases it is only for two rooms, in some others points have been credited for more.

I hesitate to disagree with such a venerable poster as SFG, but I am not sure you are correct in this:

7.4.4 Eligible expenses
Eligible expenses include:
– Accommodation expenses for the Member and one other room (a maximum total of
2 paid rooms), on the condition that said rooms are registered under the Member’s
name, that the Member stays in one of the rooms, that the second room is occupied
by at least one of his or her children, and that the Member personally pays the
charges related to these two rooms upon check-out.

I must admit that I didn't know of this rule, which seems rather an odd one! The Le Club FAQ merely states that:

You can earn Le Club Accorhotels points for a maximum of two reserved rooms. You must pay for the two rooms and occupy at least one. However, only one night will count towards your status calculation.

Why should it matter who occupies the other room, so long as the member pays for it? I have a two-room booking coming up in a couple of weeks (for myself and a friend). I was looking forward to the double helping of points :( Knowing Accor though, I'll probably still get them!

Have done it a few times, no problems, though max. is for 2 paid rooms under one reservation no. which has to be in your name.

According to a conversation with Accor (while sorting out a points error) this is a rule change as from 1st June 2012. And the quote from the T and C 7.4.4 supports this.

If Accor apply their rules strictly then the points for the OPs other two rooms would be lost.

Perhaps better to be aware of the rules as they stand now and act accordingly, to have some chance of preserving the points credit.

I stand corrected  However I too have gotten points for 2nd rooms and unless I am very wrong I have no kids :D

I agree with SouthWesterner, it's not Accor's business to know if kids should stay in the second room. I am not aware of any other hotel programme demanding such nonsense. Maybe the Accor Concierge could feed this back to HQ ;)

Thanks for the information everyone.

I have two rooms booked at the Mercure Hull next week for myself and a colleague. I'll report back here when the points post.

Anyone have any input on my other question, about a save to calender feature?

Can you ask them to look at including an 'add to calender' feature on reservations too? It isn't a showstopper, and the lack of it won't prevent me booking into an Accor property, but when it is available is very useful.

Use TripIt or some other organizer to put more than your hotel on your calendar. Accor room confirmations import well. This way you get Air, Hotel, Car rentals etc all on your calendar.
