We want to use our HH pts for that "once in a lifetime trip (likely only 7 days IN the area:(
We are strongly considering Tahiti/ French Polynesia and are in the planning stage.
Looking for tips on booking a Hilton hotel there and any other suggestions for travel to this area.
Thanks !

I strongly recommend you take some time to read the threads linked to by jerry a. laska. A number of members have taken the time and effort to add a lot of useful information on the French Polynesia Hilton properties (Moorea and Bora Bora).
If you are planning to use miles to get there, Air Tahiti Nui / TN will only get you to Papeete from CDG or LAX (and a fast ferry ride in a modern catamaran will get you on to Moorea). But for Bora Bora / BOB, you would need to use Air Tahiti, which is unaffiliated with TN or any other airline and will cost you ~$450 per person or more round trip. Some feel it's worth it - I personally do not, but it's an individual choice and predilection.
Just in case you are new enough and find Search a little convoluted, you might also want to red this thread in the Technical Issues Forum: Using the Search Feature on FlyerTalk: The Definitive Thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/technical-issues/676224-using-search-feature-flyertalk-definitive-thread.html). This will open up a lot of existing information that will likely add a lot to your travel information.
