Brazil - Can I buy a Sao Paulo magnet at the GRU airport?

Okay - I know this might be an absolutely retarded question... but I leave for the airport in a few hours, and I'm all out of Brazilian money. I'd prefer to not go to the ATM again and get hit with the fee, just to buy a magnet with cash, and then have to convert that cash back to dollars, and lose again there - that makes for an expensive magnet!

I know all the airport stores will let me use a credit card. Can someone let me know if I can buy a Sao Paulo magnet there? Do they have the little gift stores like most US airports? I am assuming they would, but some of the more random international airports I have been to do not have such stores. Thanks!

Oh and if the answer happens to be a "no," can anyone recommend a store on Paulista (or in the main downtown area) that will let me use credit card to buy a magnet?

Hotel gift stores may have it and credit card is not usually a problem. Ask the hotel your at or another nearby.

You can. I bought one there for much the reason you give. You'll be shocked by the price (at least I was!). It was marked in USD, and I'm pretty certain I paid with cc.

Just to close the loop on this - you can indeed buy them! Not sure where they other poster got his, but there is a store called "Mix" that is pre-security on the floor BELOW where you check-in. They didn't have much of a selection. Ran me about $5. Credit card was no problem.

Thanks for posting this information, Sao Paulo isn't my last stop in Brazil, so local currency and credit card acceptance isn't an issue, I was wondering if I'd be able to find magnets easily. It's good to know where I can buy them at GRU when I fly out of SP if I haven't found magnets in the city. I remember some years ago in Rio, magnets weren't easy to find. Never been to SP so the magnet hunt will be on once I'm there.

You´ll find them at the "MIX" shop mentioned before. It´s on the arrivals hall ( below check-in ) in ASA C/D Terminal 2. CC is no problem.
