Hi All,

What I should can do for Hilton HHonors points program. I am already joins HHonor Point and also, I am already put my FF#, they will automatically to put my miles into DL SkyMiles account balance. Should I get a free night stay? Can you try explain to me.

Any suggestions?

I have always chosen to earn only hotel points for my Hilton stays. I find that hotel points are easier to use than airline miles.

I agree. I chose the points and points option. If you don't use Hilton very much then the miles option may be good to keep an airline account active.

Definitely points + points. With the exception of WN and a few others, using FF points/miles is an increasingly frustrating exercise. Much easier to use hotel points, and you're likely spending a lot more time in the room than in the air anyway.

1) Hilton free nights are provided on a points per stay basis where the number of points required depend on where and sometimes when you stay.

2) There are different formulas for the number of points you earn per stay and you should optimize that, sometimes on a per stay basis.

3) You should also watch this forum for promos that change each quarter -- usually you have to register for them. Right now there's one for 2x or 3x per night.

4) You may want to get one of the Hilton credit cards -- choice is Visa vs Amex.

I agree with others that I think points+points is usually the best route formost. If you only stay with hilton a couple times a year and never will accumulate enough points for a free night, then of course you are better off using an airline partner.

When WN was a partner and had RR 1, I did use WN as a partner since most of my stays were 1 to 2 night and they were giving 1/2 credit for every stay.

Seeing Delta is your partner, in most cases the extra hilton points are worth more. When they have had the Delta promo in q4 the last couple years, I have selected Delta just because some of the miles were MQM's and they padded my carry over. If you have status with Delta and they bring the promo back this year, it may pay you to select Delta during that period. If you have no status and the MQM's are worthless for you then I wouldn't bother and would continue to get the hilton bonus points.

I too go points + points. Except when as they did at the beginning of the year and had the 2012 bonus program. Then I did points and miles with delta and racked in 2512 points per two night stay.

As with any other program and forum, have a look at the sticky threads (especially the PLEASE READ FIRST: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Pertaining to Hilton HHonors) to get the main points of the Hilton HHonors program. As well, search for the thread that discusses the MVP program - you could earn Gold in as few as four stays.

As well, you can read the Hilton HHonors Terms and Conditions to see what earns points which stays do not, etc. here (hhonors1.hilton.com/en_US/hh/terms.do).
