Air France Frequence Plus - Train segment: Domestic flight?

View Full Version : Train segment: Domestic flight?

I have a quick question:

I want to book a flight from ZRH to XZN (Avignon). I'm aware that the CDG to XZN segment is on TGV. The booking class is N. Is this counted as a domestic "flight" and would earn 50 % on FB?

I'm confused because the booking site on AF says: "This fare does not entitle you to accumulate Flying Blue miles."

Thanks for your help.

As nobody has answered my question yet (maybe it's the holiday season or my topic is just plain boring ;) ), I rephrase my question.

A train segment (CDG-XZN) is booked in "N". Will I earn miles, if yes, how many?

Thanks again for your help!

187 miles. Don't go and spend them all at once. ;)

187 miles.

That's presumably calculated as the infamous 25% of 750.

However:
- Paris - Avignon is a domestic sector (~360 miles?), and so presumably the base mileage is only 500 miles (750 is for international sectors);
- The AF mileage earning chart shows N earning 50% for domestic flights (while N for international flights only earns 25%).

So, Paris - Avignon in N should earn 250 miles (50% of 500) surely?

Note that I have no evidence as to whether an AF-coded train sector actually earns miles at all, but I assume that it should (the FB page says "You can earn Miles on all AF-coded flights", and does not explicitly exclude trains).

Don't go and spend them all at once.
Advice still stands, whether it's 187 miles or 250 miles... :)

You are entirely correct and my apologies to KL803 for my misleading advice robbing him of 63 miles per train sector :). It should indeed be 250 miles. I am puzzled as to why the AF site says that the fare is not eligible for miles. It does calculate it correctly with, say, Lille-Europe or lyon Part-Dieu as destinations but not with Avignon station.
