Hallo,

first time I get an international flight, and got it to relocate to shanghai for some years.
Got a psa-cdg-pvg AF flight (from cdg to pvg, operated by china eastern -MU?)

There were 2 flights per day from cdg to pvg, 1345 and 2120. I was on the second one.

The first flight, 1345 had been deleted (don't know why), second one (mine), also deleted because of a "wheel crash". No pieces in cdg to repair it.

Had to stay overnight in a hotel here at cdg and (wish) will be booked on 2120 next day flight (obviously...1345 was full due to double deletion).

Apart of hotel reservation (2 stars hotel...), breakfast, lunch and dinner voucher, do you know if I can get any kind of reimbursement?
I've read somewhere I could ask AF eur600 (was booked on a one-way M class).

Formally my ticket is with AF, operated on a MU flight.

Thank you much!!!

The flight code (AF or MU) is irrelevant in terms of EU regulation protection, it is the operating carrier only which is responsible in cases of cancellation, long delays, or downgrading. You cannot ask AF anything as you need to deal with MU.

If the cause is what you mention (a mechanical fault) then this is considered the airline's responsibility and you are thus eligible for compensation under regulation EC 261/2004.

hallo! sorry for late reply but had to settle down in shanghai.

that sounds quite strange to me...
means I buy a ticket with AF, I dont know the flight will be operated by MU when I buy the ticket and then...AF does follow me nomore and redirects any claim or inconvenience to MU?

As mentioned by orbitmic, following EU regulations, it is indeed the operating carrier's responsibility, therefore MU.

When you buy a flight operated by another airline than the marketing carrier (code-share), the operating carrier is clearly indicated. This is mandatory in many countries, including E.U. and USA.

+1. It is a legal requirement to disclose operating carrier, if different from marketing carrier. If you have proof that AF didn't disclose operating carrier in advance, you can have a much bigger legal claim than delay.;)
