Just want to clarify this....If the Cash and Points is 20k points plus $40 per night and I use my PC CC to pay, do I instantly receive 2k points back in my account or would 18k points be redeemed when I pay for the night?

Would the 10 % rebate apply to rewards night without the Cash and Points as well?

Finally, what is the cheapest way to earn 1500 PC points?

And does the 10% rebate require preregistration? If so, how and where? Thanks.

You need the US Priority Club Visa by Chase to receive the 10% rebate, which is credited AFTER you stay. I.e. you book hotel x for a night, which has a standard redemption rate of 25,000 points. You pay 25,000 points when you book, but several weeks after you stay you will see a rebate of 2,500.

Points are rebated based on the total points spent, so in the above example you would still see the same 2,500 point rebate if the night was 15,000 + $70.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know that my new PC Chase Visa card has such benefit :-).

And is it true that I must do the cash+point option to get the 10% rebate and only if I use the PC Chase Visa card to pay for the points?

Maybe it doesn't. This is a benefit for the Select Visa.

I used a total of 80,000 points for a stay exactly one month ago. I also have the visa from chase. Still have not received the 10% bonus. Should I call...or is it too early?

Are you saying that there are more than one kind of PC Chase Visa cards? The kind that will get 10% rebate and the kind that won't?

Takes a while... my guess is more than a month when I recieved my last bonus... I just forget about them and when they do post, I view it as a gift..

There used to be, dunno if there still is.

The Select card is the one that gets the 10% rebate. It's also the one with $49 annual fee and the annual fee night certificate and (added as of a couple months ago) automatic Platinum status. It's the one with the 60k (and sometimes targeted 80k) signup promo the last couple years or so.

But if you have had your PC Chase Visa card a lot longer than two or three years, and/or it has a lower or no annual fee, then it's not a Select card and it gets none of these benefits AFAIK.

(Unfortunately, it doesn't say "Select" on the front of the card when you have a Select card. So you can't tell visually.)

Just received my PC Rewards Visa today. It doesn't say Visa Select but does have Visa Signature at the bottom corner. When I called, CSR confirmed the 80k points, no fee first year, then $49 and one night certificate. He also said I would receive Platinum Status from PC once my lst statement closes.

However, when I read the brochure with the PC card today, it states Gold status.

I used the lst link from the Milesbuzz forum under 80k PC card thread.

It's 1 month from when the stay posts or the stay pasts, not 1 month from redemption.

The Platinum Status benefit is quite new, coming up on just two months old (see the start date of this thread):

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/intercontinental-hotels-priority-club-inter-continental-ambassador/1326946-new-priority-card-select-visa-benefit-platinum-status.html

so I bet they simply haven't updated the brochure yet.

At any rate, your 80k points will make you Plat anyway, so if those also post on your first statement, you won't really be able to easily tell that just having the card made you Plat for some time to come...
