Hilton HHonors - Hhonors Specials ?

Not new to Flyertalk, but new to the hhonors board ...

I was trying to book a stay at the Marco Island resort in FLA and found a King JR Suite Gulfview for a "HHonors Special" rate of 41,800 for a two day stay this month (21st-23rd). (Normally it's almost double that.)

After looking up some other stuff I went to book the room, but the session expired and I had to start again. I never saw the HHonors rates again - on any of the rooms. I didn't see them yesterday either.

Do these rates just come and go like that?

I tried on a completely new computer, no specials. I even searched through to October, no specials.

Just checked out of curiosity as I have been to Marco Island Hilton previously. That Hhonors Special rate was not available for those 2 nights you quoted, but was available for 22 - 24 July at rate of 33400 points per night for King Junior Suite Gulf View. Deluxe King Junior Suite was 36640 points per night. Did you mean the rate you saw was 41,800 per night or for 2 nights?

You saw a premium reward room that costs lower than standard reward room. I think it was 41,800 pt per night not for both nights. They are out of premium room on 7/21 Sat, so you will have to move your dates around. Like cjd said, the King Junior Suite Gulf View room seems to be at 33400 per night on weeknights.

If you cannot move your dates, you could book 7/21 on a standard room for 50,000 pt, and 7/22 on the King Junior Suite Gulf View room for 33,400 pt. The average would be 41,700 pt per night.

Many thanks Need. I was replying on the site's "try other dates" feature and it kept saying awards available from 50K, but in fact as you point out there are some for 30K. Live and learn.

If you have this happen in the future, try calling the HHonors line. This happened to me last fall, so I called when I could not bring the discounted/premium award back up. The rep was able to book me a Jr suite with the discounted points rate I had originally seen.
