100 points for signing up

http://www.flysas.com/EuroBonus/Join-EuroBonus/

And then another 1500 for watching some videos about Eurobonus and taking a quiz*

I was unable to sign up online, but the tech support had me set up in a couple of hours.

* the videos and quiz were in Swedish, but nothing a bit of google translate couldn't help with.

SAS have had these it bugs in their programs before, and they haven't, at least not from my account, deducted points that I weren't basically "entitled" to earn...

If you answer incorrectly (don't ask) it will prompt you and then you just change to the correct answer.

BTW, interesting that eurobonus.com is a squatted website. (No I didn't get that one wrong.)

SK's website is so messed up that the kind of flubbed up outcome you are observing is rather routine. I have dozens of accounts, some associated with EB numbers and some not due to the idiosyncratic ways of their website.

If I were to sign-up for a Eurobonus account here in Canada and earn these bonus points, is there any way to earn Eurobonus points from Canada on a regular basis (e.g. a survey site, bonus point offers, etc.) without flying on a *A carrier? Or would 1,500-4,500 points be enough to convert to something else on points.com?

As many others, I can confirm that this works with existing accounts. I was, however, unable to claim more points than the first 1500.

My theory on this is, that since I'm merely a EuroBonus pawn (Basic member), I only exist in SAS' IT systems as EBBxxxxxxxxx, whereas a Silver member will exist as EBSxxxxxxxxx as well as EBBxxxxxxxxx (since every silver member was once a basic member), and so on for Gold, and probably EBPs too.

Thanks for the info though, 1.5k points always come in handy, even for us infrequent flyers.

EDIT: I tried doing the quiz again today, with SK, EBB, EBS, EBG and EBP variants. I was able to successfully claim 200 extra points for the first section of each quiz, as it seems like SAS' systems didn't save my answer for those sections.

Moreover, checking the SKxxxxxxxxx link, I was surprised to find that all my answers had reset, and that I could now claim another 1500 points. This does not however seem to be the case -- I did not even get the 200 extra points for the 'Welcome to EuroBonus' section that had reset for the other variants.

I guess the conclusion is, as always with SAS' IT systems, that there is no definite answer to when it does and doesn't work. Personally, I'm gonna give it another go a couple of days from now.

Are you all clearing your cookies after each survey to get the additional points?

How come everyone including Mr. Nacho can ask such a stupid question like this? Of course I have cleared everything - I seriously mean everything, even to the extent that I restart my laptop because of that.

I even used Mr. Nacho work laptop to connect it from another country so that IP address won't play into the problem.

It took me half an hour to join tried all different addresses then another 20 mins to look for the 1500 bonus points video which I couldn't find . This I found this link I clicked on it it's Swedish and I can't click anything on the iPad there is no link to watch a video. Very helpful thanks , I don't think the video loads on the iPad il give it another go when I get home on the pc. I have 5 family members and hoping to get 1600 each account then merge the accounts into one (transfer the points into one account) is that possible ?

Everest
Jul 27, 12, 4:47 am
Not sure about the merging of accounts, but as far as watching the videos on the iPad is concerned, with no native flash support you'd need a third party plugin to watch them. (Not that you should bother, since the text version is both faster and probably easier for you to understand as a non-native speaker.)

Good luck :)

Just to make sure that you are doing it right:

(1) Find out what your Eurobonus number is (log in to the SAS website and find it)

(2) Then take the URL posted in this thread and CHANGE it to reflect your own name and Eurobonus number.

It should work then. The URL as it stands in this thread will not work without changing it to your own data.

Lost mine as well, but created an interesting problem. I had booked a ticket for my kids with the points and now the accounts show a negative balance. Anyone have a clue how SAS will treat this? I am guessing that it would be best to proactively cancel the tickets and rebook from my account.

Haven't tried it with SK but with UA you can have negative balance in your account. Then whenever you use that account again, then all the points you earn will first cover the negative points.

If you have already got the tickets issued, I wouldn't be worried about it.

I'm an old member in EB and used the URL in first page.

Today SAS removed all points gained from this campaign. The events still show in history, but total points on the account has been reduced.

Anyone else have their points from this removed?

yup

I cannot bring up the booking on SAS.se, so I guess that they have cancelled the ticket. No contact from them yet, but I assume that I will get a full refund on the taxes+booking fee that I paid:confused:?

What about checkmytrip? If you have a booking reference you might be able to see the reservation there.

Not there either. Still no word from SAS, but I think I will give them a call later to see what is going on.

I think you might considering contacting them Monday. It's weekend + summer holiday, and their IT system might be down - you never know.

Mine are also gone as well as show the history of the points. They should of atleast let us keep one set of the points! WTH!
Personally, once they give them...they should just let us have them...as a nice gift since they will be soon adding a fee as of October!

Most likely those who did it multiple times on the same account were penalized by all points being removed... seems most who did it once still have their points? certainly using the loophole is advantageous but also not in the spirit of the quiz... just my 2 cents worth

I did the quiz once.. Still have them :)
Wonder for those that are missing the points , could it be that they are in a different country or status ? I do agree with though.. Sometimes being too greedy can hurt the greater good

I did it several times, only had the "extra" points removed.

Ok now 1500 points were put back. It says: EuroBonus Intro 1500 points

1500 better than nothing :D

One account had the point removed and put back 1500, one account just removed anything more than 1500, the rest are untouched with 1500 points (never got the extras).

Didn't get greedy (also because the SK lurker has my account details) and the original 1500 points are still there in my account untouched.

I didn't know that there is a SK lurker in this forum

Also got my account cleaned up on MAY24 as expected and got the new 1500 points line inserted. So all is in good order and still fun to play :-)

Got my 2.000 extra points removed to.
Well the game were fun though - think we deserve a reward for showing SAS that their IT sucks

Yes, but also no. In the end they did fix things rather quickly. Also, weren't the quizes for new members only? If so, kudos to SAS for letting us all keep the 1500 points.

If anything, the SAS IT problems were more apparent (outside of FT as well) on the botched anniversary offers. Then again, take a peek in the UA forum and see how happy people are with SHARES. Things could be much, much worse.

It appears now that if anyone tries to input a status prefix (EBB, EBS, EBG) that is not matching the actual account status after the first registration of the 1500 points, the name of the account holder will default as "Lars Larsson".
