Hello,
We have option on upcoming travel from OKC to go through ORD connecting to ICN on 777F vrs. Connecting through LAX on a 747F. Any significant difference in the two choices? Haven't flown OZ in F but have been on smartium which was very nice.

I suggest going the ORD route. Apparently, they are implementing a "new F" on that route starting this summer.

I am still a little reserve on this one, as nothing really imply it is true new F (from the Korean website only and no photos or dscriptions, not to mention this plane will fly in less than 2 weeks, I would think they want to promote something new right just like they promote QS ?), I would suggest for OP to just wait for a few weeks, book LAX now and switch when it officially fly ORD later this month.

Agreed.. However if this is an award ticket then I would suggest booking ORD straight away to secure the availability... This way worst case scenario is the same seat as 747 (albeit without the private nose cabin) but potentially they could be flying this apparent new F (if it actually exists) ^

Also, the seat won't be as worn as on the 747... Unless they're using one of the planes that's been flying the JFK route.

God only knows what's wrong with their PR department that doesn't show any photos of the product.

Even if it's the old F, it's a better seat on the 777 than the 747 due to the full flat recline.

Thanks for the comments. I do have award travel and my trip is not until March. I went ahead and changed to the ORD routing on the 777 in F. Hopefully will be the new F.

777 will be nicer, but its always fun to fly on a double decker if you haven't I would go 747. Try and get upper deck.

I didn't know you wanted to fly Freight ;)

From a Wikipedia article on the Boeing 777:
...777-200LR variants entered service in 2004 and 2006 respectively, while a freighter version, the 777F, debuted in 2009.

I don't believe the freighter includes windows.

OZ NEVER has or had any order for 77L or 77F.

What are you talking about ?

F on OZ's 744 is at the nose, upper deck is C, and I don't suggest anyone fly C on OZ's 744 or 74M, as it would be angle flat seat.

Depends on what the new F (or if it is real) is, the experience on 777 in general would be less nice compare with F in the nose of the 747, as the galley in F in the 747 is behind the F cabin (less traffic), and the galley in F for the 777 is in front of the F cabin. (more traffic)

I just booked a ORD-ICN roundtrip flight in F for the fall, and the seatmap showed QS config for the business class so I assume this indeed will have new F seats.

Haha, I think you misunderstood my comment. The title of this thread specifically calls out the 777F and the 747F. OP meant a 777 or a 747 in First Class. However, the designation 777F and 747F (and 747-8F) refer to the freighter configurations of the aircraft. As for the 77L, if you look carefully, I refer to the fact that was an excerpt from the Wikipedia article on the Boeing 777, and nothing to do with OZ.

Or, shorter *whoosh*

Anyone notice the window blocks in the first class area of the new 777 OZ is about to receive? I cant say ive seen this on any of their existing fleet. Enough evidence of a new F class product on this bird?

I would say it is enough evidence.

Received my seating assignment in first from ORD in march. Diagram shows first class section with smartium in business class. Curious to see first seats.

There is a photo of the new OZ F in the (Korean) news article below:

Looks like the same basic design as the EY F cabin, except it looks like they've gone for the dullest design and colour combination possible. Almost makes NH's First Square cabin look exciting...

I'm laughing as I try to imagine the two dining together, while each orders the Bibimbab... Considering all the dishes that one gets, I can't imagine they would all fit on that tiny table!
