InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Club access without a room?

It looks like I'll have about 16 hours to kill (0800-0020) in HKG next month and I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to purchase club access from an IC without actually staying there overnight? I'd love a place to relax, have breakfast and a drink or two while doing some work but don't really need a room per se.
Might be a dumb question but you cant win if you don't enter, right?

It will cost nothing to ask (but remember that club option at Hong Kong are not cheap)
Not quite sure it is the best option still.
Club lounge at IC HKG is good but not exceptional. There is no view, as it is located on the mezzanine over the lobby. Good selection of food.
Club lounge at IC Grand Stanford is perhaps better for the view. Good selection of food and drinks as well.
Maybe a day use at CP Causeway Bay would be a better choice (and easy connection with metro)

Breakfast at Harbourside Restaurant. The view is extraordinary and the breakfast is extraordinary. The staff made no mention of a quick departure as I enjoyed the view and the walkway for hours each morning last time I visited Hong Kong and the IC.

Maybe the lobby bar at IC HKG would be a better option (great view, you can have lunch and drinks). It is busy but still quite quiet during the day.
Alternative choice:
- The great MO bar at Mandarin Oriental Landmark (great location, chic business clientele). But no view and can be noisy.
- The Lounge at Four Seasons, with all day dining. Quiet during the day.

Thanks for all the input so far.
I suppose if I wanted to I could just stay in the F lounge at the airport but I'd like to get out for awhile.
I like the breakfast at the Harbourside but wasn't sure how long I could sit there with a laptop, etc before I wore out my welcome.
Some of the other ideas sound interesting.
Thanks again!
