Hong Kong and Macau - free showers in Hong Kong
Are there free showers in Hong Kong Airport? I leave my hotel at 12h and would like a shower before 23h (flight departure)...
Which options I have if no showers in airport? Do you recommend a gym?
I'm looking for the cheapest option...
Thanks ;)

Nothing free in China / HK. I think your best bet is the Plaza Premium lounge mentioned above. I've never used it, but seen the showers. Looks clean.
Here's a link to the details. (http://www.plaza-network.com/index.php/locations/hong-kong.html)
Thanks! seems the best option...I hope there are no big queues...
maybe not the right thread but where to find free showers in London Heatrow T5? (I have a layover of about 10h in London too...) or in London city...I've heard Paddington?
Thanks!

Where in the world can you get free showers? In most European train stations, you need to pay TO PEE!
True, I guess I'm asking too much ;)
I came across this video http://youtu.be/b4UzQRzaWiE showing free showers in ICN...and also Auckland and Munich Airport have free showers...

I used the Plaza Premium lounge at HKIA but it was about 10 years back!
Perfectly competent, although that was a decade ago.
As for London - have a look here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/u-k-ireland/1316713-shower-london-heathrow-paddington.html
You might want to explore a Diners Club membership - as a credit card it's pretty redundant but at least in the UK the card is now free and comes with access to 400 lounges worldwide (although admittedly not at T5).

There are selected places with free shower or changing room, most of the time in sports ground.
IMO if someone desperately need a bath, public pools can be a good and relative cheap option (well beaches if you don't need hot water :-P). If you stay at a hotel earlier with a Gym facility you can ask if you can come back for a shower later (no guarantee success of course)
OR .... ask for trial membership at those private gym club (I think Pure Fitness offer trial membership for HSBC Card Holder .... ), but then it is last resort and way too complicated....

Good point. Some very large public toilets have them too.

I like to carry a small bottle of rose water to help freshen myself up. :)

Good point but I already checked and they ask for a HK resident card

Public toilets and shower places in HK are never that dirty, but always moist and wet, since few if any are air-conditioned. Wet floor, wet seats, wet walls. They are not someplace most will want to shower unless absolutely necessary.
The large public toilets that likely have shower stalls are those attached to wet food markets, and if you've been to one of the markets in HK, you can imagine what the toilets and showers are like.

The "wet market" version: short answer for that is no causal or seasoned traveler would want to shower at those place, with the possible exception of back packer.
I think in sports ground there are "changing room" but as a super non-sporty guy I have never been inside those and I don't know if they have any shower facility.
The public pool should the easiest, cleanest and cheapest (excluding free that is) option
I think I have seen some shower facilities in Kowloon Park, but these free shower places are also free showers places for homeless people.

Never been to HK, but I can imagine ;)

yep, we are budget travelers ;) but I guess best option is airport...

We'll try... ;) thanks!

Haha. For the price they charge at the airport, you can get someone to BATHE you on Portland St. :p
By the way, now you mention that...Where to find a cheap place for a back massage with no extras? ;)
thanks!

most have showering facilities, but not all can you sneak thru without a valid booking - Kowloon park is one I dont think you can sneak in.
However most football grounds are sneaking mission ok. (Happy Valley and the one at Western District Park are closest to HK Station, but i'd sweat thru before reaching the exit of those parks.)

My apologies. Should be fixed now.
Thanks. Tai Tong road seems far away from center or Airport...
In 5 days I'm in HK! I'm very excited to know this city ;)
