Hi,

Any suggestions for BA carry on luggage (56 * 45 * 25)?

I urgently need a best match for a trip in two weeks.

I am currently in Spain, so any suggestions where to buy here would also be great.

Thank you in advance,

David

Is this a one-off or do you want it to last?

Single BA trip or multiple BA trips? If this is a one-off trip with BA (perhaps you are usually a *A passenger) I wouldn't max out the size limit (useful as it is).

I would stick with the 55 x 40 x 20 carry-on size - this will give you maximum flexibility for your future flights.

If you're desparate to max out the size and don't mind paying, then I would go for a Rimowa spinner in that size. I might even be tempted to go for a chocolate-brown Lufthansa "elegance" model (otherwise known as a Limbo). Here's a link to the model https://www.worldshop.eu/product/RIMOWA-Lufthansa-Elegance-Collection-Multiwheel-chocolate-brown/1732955?2

Otherwise try the "usual suspects" - koffer24.de kofferdirect.de, etc. They'll happily mail you one in the post.

Edited to add: This isn't necessarily the "best" solution (that will involve an examination of what you're packing, where you're staying, etc.) but it is my personal preferred solution at the moment!

Thanks,

I'll have a look into the suggestions.

This is NOT a one off - I often fly business with BA, Only, I have not had the need before.

Best regards,

David

Can anyone recommend the biggest possible RIMOWA four wheel carryon for British Airways?

I am looking at a variation of this question.

Wife & I are flying AA TATL in December. We'll check two bags but also carry-on. Maximum AA carry-on is 56x36x23 + one personal item. For my wife, she carries a small roller (17") for jewelry, tech and other items plus personal item (purse).

We have a repositioning flight from MDS-MXP for return on EZY. As you know, their carry-on has liberal (56 * 45 * 25 sizing) and strict (1 Carry-on ONLY) elements.

My approach is to either find or have made a simple duffel to the BA/EZY dimensions of 56 * 45 * 25. I can easily transport it folded, use it for laundry, etc and when it is time to do the EZY flight, place both my wife's roller and her purse into it complying with both the size and quantity requirements of EZY. Extra room can help us redistribute items purchased and balance weight on checked items.

I have found BA to have moments of being complete illogical about carry on bags both quantity and size. Often any wheeled bag seems to set them off.

I am prepared to put my purse into my non-wheeled Red Oxx carry on bag and have done so.

The uncertainty factor adds to the stress of boarding.

I'm always expecting BA to say something to me about my luggage but they haven't yet. Last week I flew to London with just my Ebags Mother Lode that was stuffed, while there I bought a large Tumi messenger/tote bag on Piccadilly, filled that one up too with purchases and boarded a BA flight to Berlin with both carry-ons. Not a word of opposition from anyone, but I always read about the restrictions from fellow FTers.

How long ago? IMO post- Heathrow one-bag limit 4 years ago (iirc) I'd view BA at the lenient end of the carry-on scale internationally. Too lenient actually, I wish they would tighten up so I could wait in the lounge longer rather than waiting to board early do I can get overhead space.

In term's of the OP's question, pretty much any international standard bag will do, but bear in mind if you are flying C on a 747 and want upper deck seats, the overheads won't take anything more than a 19/20 inch bag.
