Not sure if I missed it before, but I noticed some changes to the KLM website. Especially under Manage My Booking things have changed.
First of all Alitalia PNR numbers are now recognized. A mixed AZ/KL itinerary has two PNRs connected to it; and now both can be used to retrieve the booking or do OLCI. Even AZ flights ex-FCO (with destinations other than AMS or CDG) can be OLCI'ed through the KLM OLCI app.
Also MMB Flight overview shows from which exact moment OLCI will be available. Handy! Like this: Online inchecken beschikbaar vanaf do 27 sep 2012 06:05
Last, MMB Shows the exact ticket conditions. While it still does not list the fare class (nor raw fare rules), it does list all the interesting fare restrictions. Screenshot (http://upload.xandrios.net/tariefvoorwaarden.png).
No huge changes by any means, but still useful. :)

Thanks for the heads up.
I hadn't noticed the "Online check-in available from" line before.
I had seen the fare rules summary appear a few weeks ago. Overall it's a nice feature, but:
Some of my KQ flights show the fare conditions correctly, but for some it just says "No fare conditions available" (I think the difference may be between flights booked on klm.com (http://klm.com), and on www.kenya-airways.com - so I wonder if fare conditions for AF/KL flights booked on OTAs display correctly?
On one AF/KL itinerary, the fare conditions shown are wrong (too restrictive). I wonder if they have been corrupted by a very minor schedule change that has recently appeared on the itinerary.
I agree it would be nice to be able to see the fare-class for each segment.
Great to hear that AZ itineraries can also be viewed, as well. What would be really nice would be if all SkyTeam itineraries could be viewed in one place (ie: MMB).
Is the "copy to my agenda" feature new, as well?

Are you sure about the AZ PNRs?
I am now trying with a couple of AZ PNRs right now. One is on a AMX-LIN codeshare (I booked through the Dutch AZ website because of a 15% discount there), and indeed I just got the message "Your booking will be shown within 30 minutes".
The other one is a "truly" AZ itinerary, booked from the German AZ website (for some reason), and I just get a message like "unknown PNR".
Funny thing is that I was in the AMS crown lounge yesterday afternoon and specifically asked at the service desk whether I could these two AZ bookings to my "Manage my booking" overview, and the two agents there were completely sure that that could be done only for AF and DL bookings.

a quick update: the AMS-LIN ticket is indeed in the overview now. No luck for the other one, however. maybe it is it was booked a few weeks ago?

I have a AZ reservation ( reservation made on a german site).
It shows on the KL .nl site but I can't change the seats.
When trying it on the AF .fr website I get transferred to the AF .de website and indeed I can select my seat.
Maybe an idea to go directly to kl .de or AF .de

I consider myself fortunate in that, with rare exceptions, I only use KL's site for OLCI. Very occasionally I check my miles balance, or access MMB. At least I try to.
The site requires me to login, but there is an even chance that the login icon at the top left is not displayed. If it is, there is a chance that the login window will actually open. If it does, there is a good chance that it will display in some sort of plain text format, rendering it useless. This morning they decided on a different tack "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.".
If I miraculously clear all the hurdles, jump through all the hoops and get to the point where I am actually given chance to check my miles balance, selecting the "full year" option normally takes me to the "My Profile" page.
Jeez . . . . how difficult can it be?

I have that problem too but I just clicked on the browser back button and all my transactions appeared! The next strange thing is that although my latest flights are now showing the level and award mile balances have not changed, maybe they will next time I log in.

I just noticed something strange.
In the past I have been able to see fare rules per segment during booking. Now I can only see fare rules for the whole itinerary. And that implies something more serious: The website only allows to book the same fare class outbound & outbound!
Through ITA I found a fare I liked to book last night. Outbound in R class, inbound in G class. Priced at 236 euro.
The KLM, AF and various 3rd party websites only allowed to book the whole trip in R class, resulting in a 277 euro ticket. Only Expedia allowed me to actually book the itinerary with R and G class combined.
While that worked, I do not like Expedia. The fare was 236 euro but Expedia adds fees and also charges 7.50 credit card fee. They use the excuse that the airline charges this fee, however the transaction is not executed by the airline. So I call BS on that one.
Going slightly offtopic, does anybody know of an online travel agency that allows one to book such segments, preferably with less fees than Expedia (Which turned out to be 15 euro)?

Tried it with an Alitalia PNR and Delta (same one) but cannot get it to add

Based on a quick check just now, klm.com (http://www.klm.com) is still showing me separate "Change your ticket conditions" options for outbound and return sections of a return flight. So, I am not sure why you are not seeing this (although I think sometimes booking engine changes are made gradually, and so affect different country sites at different times). Of course, this screen doesn't give full control over fare-class selection, but simply amongst the 'groups' of fare-classes.
A while ago, I think I saw a check-box option for "apply same fare-rules to outbound and return flights", which is useful (if you want to use the same fare-class both ways). Right now, I can't see that check-box anywhere, but perhaps your version of the site has it, and you have it ticked for some reason?
And of course, the multi-city booking tool only ever seems to give two options: (cheapest available) economy and (cheapest available) business. Which is a shame, as otherwise I find the the multi-city booking tool extremely useful.

Thanks for your insight. My version of the site does not seem to have that option, at least I cannot find it anywhere. I sincerely hope I did not activate that at some point in the future and now it is stuck forever ;-) Actually after clearing my cookies the result is the same so I think it might be something else..

I noticed another issue. Nowadays when I have logged in to my FB account, and re-visit the KLM website a day later or so, it seems to not load.
Well..it does load, but it refreshes continuesly. Again. And again. An infinite loop of refreshes on this URL: https://www.klm.com/travel/nl_nl/index.htm?successUrl=/travel/nl_nl/home_fb.htm
Worst, I cannot get out of the loop without clearing my cookies. Which I had to do 3-4 times the past week due to this bug..

Same thing here. I thought it was my computer but apparently it is a "common" issue.

This time, when I try to make a booking, the "Travel Class" dropdown is empty, so I can't finish my selection (as the 'Continue' button only activates after you've selected a travel class). :td:
This sort of thing is happening more and more often; it's becoming quite a bore. :(

All of the above problems (infinite loop, booking classes missing) can be solved by correcting the URL.
Forcing it back to http://www.klm.com/travel/nl_en solves those problems for me, at least.
(replace the "nl" with "gb" for UK, "be" for Belgium, etc...)

Thanks for the tip. I checked back after a while and it works again, but I'm finding these ever-more-frequent tech problems with the website more and more frustrating as I get older and grumpier.
I just went to update my FB profile (new passport) and, when I entered today's date for "Date of Document Issue," I was rewarded with:
"The date is in the past; please re-enter!" ( or :D, depending on blood alcohol level)

Just tried this one, but no dice. From your URL it redirects first to https://www.klm.com/travel/nl_nl/index.htm?successUrl=/travel/nl_nl/home_fb.htm, and then it keeps on redirecting to that same page.

Nowadays when I have logged in to my FB account.Congratulations!
I usually struggle just to log in. The log-in link rarely appears on the home page, and when I finally manage to conjure it out some website top hat and click on it I generally get some mangled plain text page that does allow me to enter my FB number and PIN, but not to log in.

Are you sure this is not related to your internet connection? It sounds like network connectivity issues..

Are you sure this is not related to your internet connection? It sounds like network connectivity issues..It would in that case have to be an extremely selective connectivity issue that picks only on the KL website, and nothing else.
