I am honestly not sure where this fits, but MR Discussion seems to be the best in my mind.
UA, SQ, and CX among others have all performed significant IT systems changes recently, and each has created its own suite of problems. Last weekend, SQ came to the attention of many for an error that released masses of award inventory. While not strictly MR run related, I feel that technical issues of this sort are often apt to create unintentional potential for things we might call mistake fares or that would fall under MR territory. The RGN mistake fare is another example of something that was in the range of a technical fault with airline reservations causing something FT could take advantage of.
Between IT upgrades and things like the RGN exchange rate issues, there are definitely modern technological things we can all look at to find advantages that interest the FT population. However, what I see regularly happening is one or two people notice something 'not right' and from their it grows organically into us being able to enable our passion for airplanes/airlines/air travel through technical glitches.
I am wondering if there is any interest in a specifically designated thread similar to the "trick it" thread but more in the lines of "planned IT upgrade" thread that allows people to have proactive collective knowledge of where MRs or similar opportunities may arise from IT upgrades or other technical glitches. It could have the potential to help the community notice and activate these opporunities more quickly. I see this as somewhat different from trick it/fuel dumping but others may disagree.
