Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Selected seat gone when doing OLCI?!
previously chose seats 17G, 17H, 17K for KA950(HKG-->TAO) on 14/7/2012 in MANAGE MY BOOKING...
they are with J-seats but Y-service and i totally understand.
now today i was going to perform OLCI, KA cancelled my seat preference:td:
(aircraft showing is still 33R)
i have to choose again, but now all J-seats are blocked!!! i can only choose those normal Y seats..
what should i do? should i select a normal Y seat? or do nothing till at airport and blame them? or actually it's an upgrade?
btw, it's a redeem ticket using Asiamiles, i bet the chance of upgrading is small?
and i'm GOLD

I have the same question as kamiao does.
I have reported on this forum previously that one of the glitch found after system migration is that confirmed seat assignments sometimes lost their status for no reason, and sometimes even if you hold a confirmed seat assignment the seat becomes available again and multiple PAX can have that same seat assigned. OLCI has already opened, so try your luck there. At this point I cannot distiguish whether 17GHK are just blocked or occupied (sometime between T-55 and T-48, all occupied seats become blocked and only checked-in seats are shown as occupied), but rows 15-18 remain J seats sold as Y. If you can't get it now, try to go to the airport early and talk to the check-in agent. My dad who used to be GO has gotten F seat sold as J and J seat sold as Y when he was GO.

Also, I have been op-upped a couple of times when on UG award, so definately still possible. However, if your companions have no status, they probably can't be UGed with you. Both J and Y look full, though.

the 17GHK seats are now blocked and I cannot choose them in OLCI...
but i really did choose them in MANAGE MY BOOKING (i even called MP centre for that reservation)

then i guess i should arrive airport earlier to re-book my 17GHK seat!!!
and hope i have an upgrade lah...
KA can be that mean that they only upgrade one person but not the whole bunch?!

I was in a similar situation. You will end up sitting in a J seat but get all Y services. KA told me it's not an "upgrade" but a change of seat.

i totally understand that the seats are J-seat with Y-service, but then the J-seats are all blocked now in OLCI :(

still 19 hours till my flight depart!!!:(
damn just checked... KA moved my flight from a 33R to a 33A...
they put me in normal middle seats, not even getting a window seat now :mad:

Sorry to hear that, but there are still tons of window seats available, so see if you can change your seat in OLCI. If not, call KA e-service centre.
