oneworld - ex-AMM DONE4 for 3 passengers - what am I doing wrong?

Okay so I've painstakingly tried every which way to build and buy the itinerary using the online tool - it isn't working. Yes, I know, the well known (relatively) ex-AMM glitch with the AA/RJ systems...

So I figure fine - I'll pop over to YYZ and ticket. Call the RTW desk - and they can't see the same availability that EF (expertflyer) has.

I need the AMM-JFK direct flight on Aug 26 -EF shows D4. They see D0 - no seats... HELP!!! Is there anything I can do?

Given this is the first segment - I'm in trouble because I can't easily change it. Any thoughts, suggestions or prayers would be welcome.

Thanks.

It appears that the AA RTW desk is looking at the AA codeshare, AA 7199, which shows D0. Ask them to book RJ 261 which shows D4.

Regarding the RTW booking tool and booking with AA, you do need to have at least one AA flight even if it is an AA codeshare on CX or QF TPAC (since your TATL will have to be an RJ flight due to the D0/D4 issue).

I went to YYZ for my AONE4s ex-AMM. Double check to make sure they set it up for YYZ. They inadvertently set mine up for YVR, why I don't know. It took me over an hour to purchase 3 AONE4s (2 PNRs = 2 separate purchases) and about 40 minutes to go through US immigration so make sure your turnaround time is sufficient. attempted to purchase my friend's tickets, but the fare came up as expired even though the expiration date showing on the TA screen was 5 days away, so they had to have it repriced which took about 20-30 minutes. While we were waiting for that I purchased my ticket. After I checked the itinerary listed on the 001 stock and three stops were missing. They had to cancel that transaction, and have the folks on the other end of the phone rework that ticket and reprice it which took another 20-30 minutes. I would also suggest you are there when the RTW desk is open so you can call them if necessary. BTW, I made it to my return flight's gate with 5 minutes to spare. So in summery:

1) Make sure ticket is set up for ticketing in YYZ.
2) Check the itinerary on the 001 stock after the ticket is purchased.
3) Use a CC hat has no FX fee for purchase.
4) Have plenty of credit on your CC in case they screw up and charge you twice like they did with me. Even though the first charge was cancelled the authorization/hold still showed up on my CC. I cleared it out a few days later when charges were refused as it appeared I was over my credit limit. A simple call to the CC will fix that problem should it occur.

Thanks - I did make sure they're booking RJ 261 - argued with them even saying I was seeing D4 - to no avail. Someone had said it might be a POS issue - tried that too but they didn't know what I was talking about.... Oh well.

I'll have to go thru London I guess.

Regarding the RTW tool - I do have a AA code share booked Transpac to Sydney - so that shouldn't be the issue....

And about YYZ - thanks for the tips - will make sure I take care of that with plenty of time.

BTW, if you can afford the extra $1500-2000 for an AONEx it is worth it IMO especially for the TATL, TPAC and TC2<->TC3. If Hawaii is in your itinerary then an AONEx is not worth it IMO. I find when I book AONEx I booked the longest routing if there is an F cabin; like DXB-LHR-HKG, LHR-LAX, JFK-HKG, etc. After all this is FT. ;)

FWIW, I couldn't get the RTW booking tool to work either.

Good luck in YYZ.

And to close this thread... Given that I couldn't get availability in the direct AMM-JFK flight and the extra fuel surcharges with BA made the ticket less compelling. The folks at Gala Travel were stellar and have certainly earned my business in the future but for now. I'm just burning mile to/from Maldives which were my main destination for this flight...

Got 2 F on Etihad using miles near the dates I wanted... Can't wait to try the suites.
