Emirates Skywards - Upgrade at Gate for DXB to SEAView Full Version : Upgrade at Gate for DXB to SEA truestar Jul 11, 12, 11:25 am I am just wondering what are the chances of getting upgraded to business at gate, for my upcoming travel from DXB to SEA. Thanks Zol Jul 11, 12, 11:58 am Hi truestar Your question is very vague. It all depends on what class you are travelling, what date, what status do you hold, the loads on that sector etc etc truestar Jul 11, 12, 12:12 pm Hi truestar Your question is very vague. It all depends on what class you are travelling, what date, what status do you hold, the loads on that sector etc etc I don't have any status, I think I am traveling in B class. whimike Jul 11, 12, 12:53 pm Just about every DXB-SEA flight I have flown, Y has gone out full and there have usually been a few op-ups to J. I have yet to see a full J cabin, however, so no op-ups to F, although that is not what you asked. If there are any gold or silver onboard they will be upgraded first when Y is oversold. Your chance as a non-status flyer, I am afraid, is nearly nil. Having said that, keep an eye on your email box. Emirates has been known to send out highly discounted paid upgrade emails to those without status. truestar Jul 11, 12, 2:27 pm Just about every DXB-SEA flight I have flown, Y has gone out full and there have usually been a few op-ups to J. However, In 2009 flying from DXB to SFO, I got an upgrade to business at the gate. They asked for a single passenger and took my boarding pass and gave another with business upgrade. It was the first time I was flying Emirates at that time. Xlr Jul 11, 12, 3:41 pm Was that in the waiting/sitting area between the gate and the bridge? Those upgrades are random as far as I know. truestar Jul 11, 12, 6:02 pm Was that in the waiting/sitting area between the gate and the bridge? Those upgrades are random as far as I know. Speaking of US upgrades, the waitlist for my EK 201 just cleared 7 months AFTER booking my ticket and 2 weeks before the flight. I'm happy! It showed on EF as having award availability for a whole....15 minutes. No clue with SEA, I'd imagine loads are quite heavy at this time of year across the board, so I guess it's a possiblity. |
