So, are the DoubleTree cookies only for check-in or can I walk up to the counter and get one any time?!? :D

Depends on the hotel how free they are with the cookies, a few even put some out on the front desk. Usually you can get more every day but you do have to ask. These cookies are incredibly rich and full of artificial flavor enhancers. Too bad for you for everyday comsumption anyway.

Those things are absolutely awful for you...do yourself a huge favor by politely declining them at check-in.

I have always been given one at the front desk when I asked.

As others have said they are bad for you (I think they have over 300 calories) but they are SO good

Ever heard of moderation?

I won a tin of DT cookies on a Facebook contest last year, I must admit there was no moderation involved and damn they were good!!!

DT cookies remind me of the old Lays commercial of "No one can eat just one". IMO DT cookies are a LOT better than a lays potato chip:)

DT should put them out for breakfast and hand them out to kids.

Nothing like watching the parents go bazerk after their kid has eaten 3-4 DT cookies. :D

I am actually lokking to buy a tin of them next time I'm in a DT as all the family loves them! Especially my son who needs the daily sugar intake ;)

They should sell DT cookie mix in stores. It will probably be a popular item (at least with the shoppers who have stayed at DT before).

I only had one -- that was a few years ago in Atlanta. I couldn't eat it after being told it contained nuts.

Is that still true?

Whenever we have exchange students who have gone back to their home countries, many will talk about their travels with us, and of all the places we go and see, the hotels with the good cookies always come up. :p

DoubleTrees may not be consistent with much else, but they have the cookies going for them.

You can also get them online

They still contain walnuts (and they have said in the past they always will), but I don't know if you would eat them or not :D

If you google there are quite a few sites out there that swear they have cracked the recipe so you could bake them at home. I've never tried (mainly because I think there are way better cookies out there), but for example

Only if I am willing to risk a possible fatal allergic reaction.

It looks like my only choices in SEA will be to toss my cookies or offer somebody the opportunity to eat my nuts.

The very nice hostess who oversaw breakfast in the restaurant at one DT (which shall remain nameless) gave my husband and me a free tin of the cookies one time. We hadn't mentioned liking them or anything, but we did, and it was nice. :D

This is even becoming a bit inconsistent. The last few I received were almost rock hard (even the one today). When they are fresh and moist, they are incredible.

They're one of my favorite parts of staying at DTs. I've never thought to ask for more, but I'm sure the front desk wouldn't say no as long I wiped the chocolate from the previous two off my face first :D

The Doubletree "Memphis East" always has a giant self serve basket of them as you exit the elevator to the HHonors floor, FYI. :-)

FWIW, I decided to ask for one and the FDW asked me how many I wanted. I just took one. Of course there's always tomorrow. ^

Those dang cookies are good indeed. First time I went to a DT in Atlanta, they gave two cookies and a little carton of milk. In Spokane they gave Diamonds a tin of them. Don't know that I've ever been denied an extra cookie when asked (there, I said it, I admit it, I have asked for an extra cookie a time or two, they're yummy).

They contain walnuts, so I share your pain.

Yes, by all means decline them so there are more left for me when I check in.

When avoiding transfats, moderation isn't an option.
