Ms. Travel Light & I just received the following offer via e-mail

"Earn bonus miles
on purchases through September 30, 2012*
Act now to earn an additional 2 miles per dollar (up to 2,500 miles) on purchases - from gas stations to restaurants to just about anything - made with your Alaska Airlines Visa SignatureŽ credit card account through September 30, 2012.

Activate with one click

*To be eligible for this bonus miles offer, your account must be open with charging privileges and you must register for this offer by September 30, 2012. From the date you register through September 30, 2012, you will earn two (2) bonus miles per dollar of purchases (excluding credits, returns and adjustments) up to a total of 2,500 miles) (in addition to base miles earned). All terms of your Program Rules apply. Allow up to 10-12 weeks for bonus miles to appear on your credit card account billing statement or online statement. We reserve the right to verify eligibility of all transactions."

It comes about a month before the accounts' one-year anniversary.

Looks like BoA would like us to keep our accounts open.

A couple of issues:

1. Is that two miles per dollar, or two additional miles per dollar? The wording does not make that clear.

2. Would the CC account have to remain open for 3 months after the spend in order to get credited?

My wife gets these offers in the mail on a regular basis. They are adverstised as 3 x miles for certain purchases. So instead of earning 1 mile per dollar you earn 3.

I got my first one the other day and it was for concerts tickets, amusement parks, and something else, I think. Pretty much useless unlike gas and groceries.
