The other day on the inaugural AUS-DCA flight, I was talking to another A+/CP holder and he said that there was a special group within AirTran that you can call and attach your WN companion to your FL flight. In disbelief, I asked over and over and he was emphatic that this was indeed true.

Unfortunately, today when I called the AirTran elite number, the kinds CSR informed me that I was indeed misinformed and that CP is not yet recognized on FL.

While I hope (beg even!) that the CSR is actually the wrong person in this case, I fear the worse. Unless somebody else knows the truth?

Can we book our companions on AirTran flights?

I believe that he also had a bridge for your perusal.

what you can do is convert enough southwest points for 100 airtran a+ rewards credits, then convert those 100 a+ rewards credits to a companion pass valid only for Airtan.

Note that the Airtran companion pass USES up all the 100 credits to get you just the companion pass. With Southwest, you of course get to keep the points/credits for later use once you reach the companion pass tier.
